Overview

This is a remote role that may only be hired in North Carolina and South Carolina.

This senior sales position is responsible for the sales of technically complex processing solutions to our specialty verticals. Determines merchant needs and offers appropriate processing solutions, identifying sales opportunities via referrals and advanced prospecting efforts. Partners with the Vertical relationship managers to drive new client acquisition and the expansion of existing relationships through cross-sales and direct sales efforts ensuring all activities create value for the bank. In partnership with third-party vendors, this position is the liaison for the ongoing support, problem resolution and training to merchants. Provides a leadership role to the work group in sales, production, and product education efforts.


Responsibilities

  • Sales - Actively sells Merchant Services solutions to specialty vertical clients and prospects. Leverages cross-sell opportunities through banker referrals for existing accounts and participates in prospecting activities to acquire new clients. Analyzes merchant statements, pricing, hardware, and software to determine business needs and offer the appropriate product. Refers merchants to other departments within the Bank for additional financial services. Responsible for a high level of sales and service ability, mentoring less experienced associates and participating in advanced prospecting efforts.
  • Solutions Delivery - Partners with operations team and vendors to research complex processing solutions and offer recommendations to create operational and financial efficiencies for clients. Reviews merchant documentation and compiles additional information as needed.
  • Pricing Proficiency - Recommend pricing and processing strategies that solve clients' needs. Expert Knowledge of card network interchange fees, qualifications, 3rd Party processing financial models, and ability to explain complex pricing in simple terms.
  • Payments Industry Expert - Maintains strong knowledge of industry products including credit card processing methods and media, brand rules and regulations, and competitor products and services. Utilizes expertise to recommend and explain best solutions for merchant hardware, software, and price structure during sales efforts.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of experience in Financial or Merchant Sales OR High School Diploma or GED and 10 years of experience in Financial or Merchant Sales

Preferred Area of Experience: Minimum of 8 years in financial or merchant salesLicense or Certification Type: Certified Payments Professional Preferred, Certified Treasury Professional PreferredSkill(s): Payments Industry Knowledge, Sales planning and forecasting, Business Development
