Overview

The Principal Product Owner, Operations Transformation is a senior, hands-on leader within the Operations Transformation product owner team. This role partners directly with functional heads across Insurance Operations, Premium Audit, Contact Centers, Claims Services, Legal Operations, Collections & Payments, and Policy Services to shape, prioritize, and deliver a transformation portfolio that improves customer experience, efficiency, and control across a global P&C small business insurer. You will combine deep P&C operations know-how with modern delivery practices, automation/RPA, and agentic AI to translate strategic outcomes into an executable backlog, drive cross-functional delivery, and communicate progress at the C-suite level.



Responsibilities

- Strategy & Portfolio Ownership: Contribute to development and maintenance of a multi-year transformation roadmap aligned to enterprise strategy; define problem statements and OKRs; manage an integrated portfolio/backlog.

- Product Management & Delivery: Own lifecycle from discovery to value realization; translate business outcomes into epics/features; lead backlog grooming and sprint ceremonies.

- Automation, RPA, and Agentic AI Enablement: Identify and qualify automation opportunities; partner with automation CoEs to execute automation initiatives.

- Stakeholder Partnership & Change Leadership: Build strong relationships with functional heads; facilitate decision-making; drive change management and adoption.

- Financials & Value Realization: Develop business cases; track KPIs and value delivery; manage budgets and vendor relationships.

- Governance, Risk, and Compliance: Ensure regulatory alignment; work with Risk, Compliance, and Audit; maintain strong controls and operational reliability.

- Global Ways of Working: Operate autonomously; promote continuous improvement; collaborate proactively and effectively with product owners and SMEs across global teams.



Qualifications

- 8-12+ years in P&C insurance operations, with transformation and delivery leadership experience.

- Deep familiarity of P&C operations including underwriting support, policy servicing, claims services, audit, contact centers, and legal ops.

- Hands-on experience delivering automation/RPA and AI-enabled capabilities.

- Strong Agile/Lean/Design Thinking background; experience with process mining and backlog tools.

- Executive presence and strong C-suite communication skills.

- Self-starter with the ability to operate independently in a global environment.

- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degrees or certifications preferred.

The expected salary range for this role is $87,600-$140,000/year.
