Basic Function
We have two (2) vacancies in the Mechanical Group. The vacancy will be filled based upon plant seniority and qualifications of those submitting resumes. Job Duties

Maintenance and repair of heaters, vessels, reactors, exchangers, piping systems and other relevant fixed mechanical equipment associated with the refinery processes, storage, and transportation of hydrocarbons with special emphasis on welding.

Experience

Successful completion of a formal program in their appropriate field or other relevant skills through military service, a crafts apprenticeship program or Vo-Tech school. Significant relevant experience can be considered as an acceptable alternate.

Education Level
High School diploma or GED with curriculum including basic math skills.
Required Skills

  1. High School diploma or GED with curriculum including basic math skills.
  2. Basic computer competency.
  3. Effective oral and written communication.
  4. Problem solving: Using a combination of computer (SAP) skills and materials knowledge.
  5. The ability to effectively interface with all levels of the plant organization and external suppliers is essential.
  6. Requires occasional, but essential physical ability to climb stairs with hand held material weighing 5 to 50 pounds (successful completion of a job function capacity test is required). Frequent, but essential lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of handheld materials weighting 1 to 25 pounds.
  7. Requires standing 80% of the work day.\


Preferred knowledge and Skills: Successful candidate must be able to demonstrate through formal written tests, interviews, and practical tests his knowledge including but not limited to pipe fitting, boilermaker, and welding craft skills. Additional skills in the field of rigging and heavy equipment operating will be an advantage but not essential. Successful candidate will also be required to pass a functional capacity test.

Work Conditions

Outdoors environment based. Petroleum refinery, plant environment, including but not limited to chemicals, pressure vessels, and tanks, rotating equipment, and working in confined spaces. Able to work in adverse weather conditions. Must be available to work a flexible schedule (e.g. overtime, weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts).

Physical Requirements

Job conditions may require standing, walking, sitting, twisting, stooping, crouching, kneeling, talking or hearing, making visual inspections, making precise hand and finger movements, reaching or grasping, lifting and/or carrying up to 50lbs, pushing and/or pulling up to 50lbs, climbing over 100ft, ability to operate and drive all assigned company vehicles at company standard insurance rates is essential, valid state drivers license and proof of insurance required, wearing personal protective equipment (beards not permitted) and strenuous physical activity.
