Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Valid PA driver's license with clean motor vehicle report.
- Basic computer skills and experience with an EMR system preferred.
- Case Management experience with adults and children preferred.
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree with major course work in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, anthropology, other related social sciences, criminal justice, theology, nursing, counseling, or education; or
- Registered nurse; or
- A high school diploma and 12 semester credit hours in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, or other social science and two years of experience in direct contact with mental health consumers; or
- A high school diploma and five years of mental health direct care experience in public or private human services with employment as a case management staff person prior to April 1, 1989.

We are seeking a community-based Recovery coach to join our team in Colmar, PA serving clients in Montgomery County.
General Responsibilities:
Duty and Responsibility Dimensions
The work of the Recovery Coach is a rich and complex array of duties and responsibilities that can be roughly categorized into four dimensions:
Recovery Planning and the Provision of Help
- Facilitate the acquisition of knowledge, skills and abilities for people in recovery
- Facilitate the completion of recovery plans that are strength-based, recovery-focused and individualized to the hopes, dreams and aspirations of people in recovery;
- act as mentors, motivators and educators in service to this plan;
- assist people in recovery in creating strategies in choosing, getting and keeping their life goals
- help people in recovery identify and overcome obstacles and fears
- facilitate the creation of social networks outside the program for people in recovery
- identify coachable goals and help to develop skills that will enable them to execute the actions necessary to achieve the objectives in the recovery plan
- assist people in recovery in identifying triggers, risk factors and other potential challenges to their recovery plan and create strategies to address these (WRAP or similar)
Community Exposure, Inclusion and Integration
- Help people in recovery create an interest in community life; teach community living skills; understand the varieties of sequences in acquiring a heightened community life or of acquiring any new interest through exposure, trials, increasing involvement and integration
- participate with staff and people in recovery in creating key community partnerships in service to the recovery of all program participants
- Identify the natural supports that already exist within the day-to-day experience of people in recovery and determine how to elevate that support
- As people in recovery pursue community exposure activities, provide needed supports in confronting and dealing with the inevitable expression of stigmatizing attitudes, behaviors and expressions by the public;
- Teach recovering persons, in real world settings, the skills they need to successfully utilize community resources
- Coach recovering people in the independent use of community supports
- Match interests to community resources for people in recovery
- Visit community resources with recovering persons to assist them in becoming familiar with potential opportunities
- Coach recovering people in the independent use of community supports
III. Varieties of Support
- Establish trust and communicate hope
- Provide support during post-treatment recovery checkups
- Act as an advocate for people in recovery with the team and associated staff, in the blending of clinical, medical, family and other contributing factors and concerns that further clarify the challenges involved and which will inform the recovery planning process
- With the permission of the person in recovery, engage family members and other key people to participate in the recovery journey of their loved one, as appropriate
- Encourage peer leadership, peer involvement, and peer support at all times with the inclusion of their input regarding the ongoing development of the program and through encouraging peer support to other peers in need
IV. Service and Personal Development
- Contribute to the aims and ambitions of the service
- Provide leadership by action and example that parallels the hoped for behavior of people in recovery
- Pursue ongoing professional and personal development meant to ensure ongoing growth
- Act as a model to people in recovery and staff by demonstrating that recovery is possible (Recovery Coaches who are also Certified Peer Specialists)
- Complete all required paperwork in a timely and legible fashion
Additional responsibilities:
- Provide recovery coach services as needed in the place where the person in recovery resides or needs the service.
- Recovery plans should be developed within 30 days of admission, reviewed and updated as per the person in recovery's goals (maximum 6 months)
- Provide face to face contact with people in recovery every 14 days (max) for those needing ICM contact and 60 days (max) for those needing resource coordination contact.
- Out of the total weekly 37.5 work hours, provide required productivity requirements as directed by management.
- Participate in rotating on-call schedule through which the unit provides 24 hours, 7 days/week availability of contact with staff.
- Attend required training each year as set forth in regulations and recommended by management.
- Attends scheduled meetings/supervision on a regular basis.
- Maintain documentation required by Merakey, county or state regulations (chart & vouchers).
- Monitor EVS per caseload to ensure proper billing.
- Get paid for overtime hours only when approved by supervisor.
- Provide services to those in recovery and adjust approaches, work schedules and case loads to meet the people in recovery's needs. This may include nights and weekends.
Perform other duties as required and pertinent to the mission of the company.
Earn $22.29 per hour
Additional $2 per hour available with the selection of our Enhanced Pay option!
