Job Summary The Assistant Project Manager supports the successful planning, coordination, and execution of network infrastructure and construction-related projects within an assigned site or program. This role collaborates closely with project managers, site teams, clients, and vendors to ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and in alignment with quality, safety, and customer satisfaction standards. The Assistant Project Manager plays an active role in scheduling, financial tracking, resource coordination, and on-site project oversight while contributing to continuous improvement and team development. Job Responsibilities

Assist with overall project planning, execution, and delivery to meet schedule, cost, quality, safety, and performance targets.

Develop and maintain program and project schedules, milestones, and financial plans.

Support pre-construction activities including constructability reviews, feasibility assessments, estimating, and value engineering.

Coordinate labor requirements, technician scheduling, travel arrangements, and site logistics.

Direct and support purchasing activities, including bill of materials development and material procurement.

Assist with contract preparation, administration, negotiations, and change management processes.

Monitor project costs, job cost postings, invoicing, collections, and financial reporting for accuracy and completeness.

Prepare and maintain project documentation, reports, forecasts, and required project management deliverables.

Inspect and review work to ensure compliance with plans, codes, regulations, quality standards, and safety requirements.

Coordinate with superintendents, subcontractors, suppliers, designers, and internal partners.

Proactively communicate project status, risks, and corrective actions to stakeholders.

Support quality assurance, safety, and environmental programs across assigned projects.

Assist with training, coaching, and development of project team members.

Participate in client meetings, presentations, and issue resolution to maintain strong working relationships.

Maintain regular on-site presence to support active project management responsibilities.
Job Requirements

Experience with contract negotiation and contract administration.

Experience building, leading, and supporting project teams.

Understanding of program management fundamentals, including earned value management, SPI, CPI, and related performance metrics.

Strong organizational, time management, and coordination skills across multiple disciplines.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project reporting tools.

Ability to communicate effectively with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders.

Willingness and ability to work on-site as required.
Education
-
Bachelor's degree in construction management, business management, electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Work Experience
-
1-3+ years of direct experience in construction management, data center environments, or structured cabling projects.

Demonstrated experience supporting projects delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality and safety standards.
