Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, one of the world's leading global law firms with offices in strategic hubs of commerce, law, and government across North America, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, is seeking to hire a Manager of Attorney Coaching. Reporting to the Director of Attorney Coaching, the Manager of Attorney Coaching will work with the firm's Attorney Coaching team to support associate professional development and guide attorneys through critical career milestones. This role partners with attorneys across offices, collaborates with internal firm teams and will serve as a liaison to external clients for job posting purposes.

This position can reside in any of the following Morgan Lewis offices: Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, Orange County, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Seattle, Silicon Valley and Washington, DC. A hybrid in office/remote working schedule is available.

Essential Functions

  • Conduct one-on-one coaching intake sessions to assess individual needs and connect attorneys with tailored coaching resources that support professional growth and long-term career goals.

  • Provide career planning support in close collaboration with the Manager of Legal Career Pathways, leveraging firm relationships and resources to assist attorneys with searches.

  • Maintain internal the job board - sourcing opportunities from clients, compiling open positions, and ensuring postings remain current and accurate.

  • Maintain coaching data and identify opportunities to enhance reporting, insights, and coaching-related resources.

  • Research and analyze legal employment trends at both national and global levels to help guide attorneys in shaping and refining their career strategies.

  • Assist in preparing email communications, reports, and presentations that highlight team services, programs, and performance metrics.

  • Develop a strong understanding of the firm's practices, people, resources, and expectations to help associates leverage each alongside coaching.

  • Support additional Attorney Coaching initiatives and firm-wide coaching efforts as needed.

  • Contribute to broader Associate Talent Team initiatives and participate in firmwide and local associate programming and events.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree required

  • Four to six years of experience in professional services environment in any of the following areas is preferred: career coaching, professional development, legal recruiting, HR Generalist/HR Business Partner or outplacement services

  • Legal industry experience preferred

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Collaborative, consultative management style; effective at all organizational levels

  • Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to work independently or as part of a team

  • Highly organized with strong planning, problem-solving, and change-management skills

  • Trusted partner with discretion in handling confidential information

  • Knowledge of legal job boards and recruiting vendors

  • Flexible regarding hours and occasional travel

  • Proficient in MS Office, document management systems, and Adobe

  • Experience with PeoplePath, LinkedIn, and other social media platforms preferred

For positions in Los Angeles, CA, Orange County, CA and Seattle, WA the salary range for this job posting is: $119,200.00 - $190,675.00.

For positions in Boston, MA and Washington, DC, the salary range for this job posting is: $114,200.00 - $182,750.00.

For positions in Chicago, IL, the salary range for this job posting is: $109,300.00 - $174,775.00.

For positions in New York, NY, Silicon Valley, CA and San Francisco, CA, the salary range for this job posting is: $124,200.00 - $198,600.00.

The base salary wage range for this position will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to prior experience, relevant expertise, current business needs, and market factors. Final salary wages offered may be outside of this range based on other reasons and individual circumstances. Additionally, salary wages may be only part of the total compensation package. The total compensation package for this position will also include eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus. Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plans and policies then in effect, eligible employees may enroll in: a 401(k) plan, as well as participate in Company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, life, disability, accidental death and dismemberment, business travel accident insurance plans, and health savings and flexible spending accounts for the employee and the employee's eligible dependents. Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plans and policies then in effect, eligible employees may utilize the Employee Assistance Program, Work/Life Services, Health Advocate, Bright Horizons Back-Up Child Care, and WageWorks Commuter Benefits for the employee and the employee's eligible dependents. Employees will also receive: 9 paid holidays per calendar year, 2 personal days per year, and up to 20 days of vacation per year. In accordance with state applicable law, eligible employees will earn 1 paid sick leave hour for 30 hours worked. Eligible employees may also take up to five days off for bereavement leave, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave per year and up to 10 weeks of paid pregnancy disability leave per pregnancy. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the firm reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, firm or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
