Job Description
General Purpose of Job: Responsible for providing assessment, evaluation, and treatment of acute care, adult medical-surgical patients under the guidance of the Critical Care physicians Essential Duties: This job description is intended to cover the minimum essential duties assigned on a regular basis. Caregivers may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned by their leader. Leadership has the right to alter or modify the duties of the position.

- Facilitates appropriate admissions to appropriate health system units by initiating orders, coordinating with appropriate attending physician, and moderating medication reconciliation process.
- Performs and dictates History & Physical, medical Consultation, Discharge Summary and SOAP notes as per hospitalist service standards.
- Assists with development of plan of care.
- Reviews diagnostic X-Rays, monitors lab values and other diagnostic studies.
- Performs daily rounds as assigned by Critical Care physicians.
- Communicates with physicians, nursing staff, residents and other members of the medical team to maintain current and accurate updates in patient status
- Willingness to learn to perform procedures including intubations and the placement of central lines, chest tubes and Quinton catheters.

| Work Experience |
* One year experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in acute hospital setting required. * Experience with electronic health records (EHR). * One year experience in critical care setting. Preferred |
| Education |
* MSN degree required or graduate of an accredited PA Program. * Current Michigan RN license * Certification and licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the State of MI required. * BLS/ACLS |
| Specialized Knowledge and Skills |
* Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective plan of care. * Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively and appropriately communicate with patients, families, physicians and other hospital associates. * Computer skills appropriate for navigating current word processing, database, and networking programs. * Demonstrates ability to use a keyboard as may be required to perform the essential duties of the job. |
