SUMMARY/JOB PURPOSE (Basic purpose of the job):

Digital Marketing Director will be an integral part of the Exelixis franchise marketing team. Reporting to Executive Director of Digital Marketing, this position will be responsible for developing the branded franchise digital marketing strategy and ensuring execution of strategically aligned non personal tactics within web and email channels, partnering closely with teammates focused on media channels. This role will also be responsible for optimizing performance dashboards for monitoring marketing data and measuring performance of non-personal promotional campaigns across channels.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan and manage promotional website and email tactics that drive increased awareness of CABOMETYX for multiple FDA-approved indications and prepare for the launch of zanzalinitinib (pending FDA approval)
  • Oversee creative development of Brand digital assets on time and on budget, finding efficiencies in development and opportunities for modular design (websites, rep-triggered emails, HQ emails, SEO/SEM and other NPP as needed)
  • Manage approval of digital marketing materials with Regulatory, Legal, and Medical
  • Be the project manager for digital marketing campaigns and ensure timelines are met
  • Manage the digital agency of record, ensure the overarching digital strategy accomplishes the key brand goals across each indication
  • Analyze web and email KPIs, conduct A/B testing, and suggest changes to web pages, emails, and subject lines to boost KPI performance
  • Partner with GI + GU Marketing, Sales, Market Access to ensure consistent messaging and customer experience across all digital assets
  • Partner with GI + GU Marketing, Sales, IT, and CSAO on development of omnichannel journeys and AI use cases
  • Partner with analytics, agencies, and IT to evolve the marketing data warehouse and performance dashboards for reporting NPP data and KPIs across channels
  • Provide expertise on digital trends in the marketplace, and assess new opportunities as they come to see overarching fit to our strategic plan

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Directly supervises employees
  • Indirectly supervise employees through a dotted line structure or via other subordinate supervisors

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in related discipline and 13 years of related experience; or
  • Master's degree in related discipline and 11 years of related experience; or
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience:

  • Experience in product marketing, field sales, or market research/analysis in the pharmaceutical or biotech industries
  • Digital marketing experience across patient and healthcare professional audiences, including online media (SEO/SEM/display), lead gen, web, mobile, social, CRM, non-personal and field promotion channels.
  • Prior marketing experience working in Oncology product launch is preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proven work experience as a Digital marketing strategist or Digital marketing manager
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; proven abilities to effectively manage and complete multiple priorities and projects
  • Exceptional agency management to guide drive projects forward, help identify and remove roadblocks
  • Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams and demonstrate strong collaboration skills
  • Reporting and analytics experience across media and digital channels
  • Hands on experience with online marketing tools and practices
  • Talent for blending innovation with pragmatic execution
  • Ability to draw insight from market research, the sales force, and other sources to optimize messaging, tactical plans, and promotional activities
  • Strong presentation, verbal and written communication skills
  • Understanding of FDA Regulations of pharmaceutical drug promotions and experience with Legal, Medical and Regulatory review processes
  • Some business travel is required
  • Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. May also work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors
  • Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
  • Networks with key contacts outside own area of expertise.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

Business travel (~25%) is required.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across severalU.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The base pay range for this positionis $194,500 - $275,000 annually. The base pay range may take into account the candidate's geographic region, which will adjust the pay depending on the specific work location. The base pay offered will take into account the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, experience and internal equity, among other factors. In addition to the base salary, as part of our Total Rewards program, Exelixis offers comprehensive employee benefits package, including a 401k plan with generous company contributions, group medical, dental and vision coverage, life and disability insurance, and flexible spending accounts. Employees are also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus program, or if field sales staff, a sales-based incentive plan. Exelixis also offers employees the opportunity to purchase company stock, and receive long-term incentives, 15 accrued vacation days in their first year, 17 paid holidays including a company-wide winter shutdown in December, and up to 10 sick days throughout the calendar year.
