At WGU, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their position, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is:

Job Description

At WGU, our mission is to expand access to higher education-and that starts with a secure, professional campus experience. As a Front Desk Coordinator, you'll be the first point of contact for guests and employees, playing a vital role in both customer service and site security.

The Role: Front Desk Coordinator

The Front Desk Coordinator serves as the face of WGU's campus, managing visitor check-in, badge issuance, wayfinding, and supporting essential security operations. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting while upholding safety and compliance standards.

What You'll Do

  • Greet and assist all visitors, vendors, and employees in a courteous, professional manner
  • Manage front desk operations, including visitor screening, badge issuance, and access control
  • Support security processes such as incident reporting, lost-and-found management, and emergency response
  • Coordinate with facilities, security, and building management teams regarding access and safety needs
  • Maintain confidentiality, data protection standards, and accurate visitor logs

What You Bring

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional administrative or security training is a plus
  • 3+ years of front desk, receptionist, hospitality, or customer service experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Outlook, Excel)

Bonus if you have

  • Experience with ServiceNow or similar ticketing platforms
  • Familiarity with customer service best practices and emergency procedures
  • Experience with electronic badge access systems, and visitor management software
  • Experience in building management systems or corporate security environments

Work Location

This is a full-time, in-office position at WGU's headquarters in Salt Lake City, UT. You'll work alongside a multidisciplinary team committed to safety, service, and operational excellence.

Position & Application Details

Full-Time Regular Positions (classified as regular and working 40 standard weekly hours): This is a full-time, regular position (classified for 40 standard weekly hours) that is eligible for bonuses; medical, dental, vision, telehealth and mental healthcare; health savings account and flexible spending account; basic and voluntary life insurance; disability coverage; accident, critical illness and hospital indemnity supplemental coverages; legal and identity theft coverage; retirement savings plan; wellbeing program; discounted WGU tuition; and flexible paid time off for rest and relaxation with no need for accrual, flexible paid sick time with no need for accrual, 11 paid holidays, and other paid leaves, including up to 12 weeks of parental leave.
