US:MD:HUGHESVILLE

PART TIME

PURPOSE:

SMECO is seeking a motivated engineering student to support the Distribution Operations management team as we develop a Request for Proposal (RFP) for a new Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS). This internship provides hands-on exposure to utility operations, modern grid technologies, and cross-department collaboration. Strong performance may lead to consideration for a full-time Associate ADMS Engineer position.

THE JOB FUNCTION INCLUDES:

Under the guidance of the Distribution Operations Management team, the intern will:

*Assist SMECO and our consultant in the ADMS RFP process.

*Participate in stakeholder workshops and document requirements, decisions, and action items.

*Help organize and develop technical documentation, system workflows, and functional requirements.

*Support data gathering related to GIS, SCADA, OMS, and current DMS functions.

*Attend project meetings, track tasks, and help prepare presentation materials.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

*The student must be enrolled in an ABET accredited engineering program with an in-program status of junior or senior.

*Proficient with Microsoft Office.

*Must be a United States Citizen.

*Must have the physical ability to perform the essential functions, duties, and responsibilities of the job which include, but are not limited to, walking, bending, sitting, lifting and carrying loads averaging 25 pounds.

Working Conditions:

*Primarily office/computer-based work with occasional guided field visits.

*Must maintain a professional and collaborative work style.

This position pays $18.00/hr.
