About the Role

BWBR is seeking a Data & Research Analyst to support a firm-wide initiative integrating data analytics and design research into our architectural and interior design services. This role helps translate data and evidence-based research into actionable insights that inform design strategy, client decision-making, and organizational performance.

Working closely with the Data & Information Services Director, project teams and firm leadership, the Analyst will contribute to analytics, visualization, and research efforts that support clients before, during, and after design and construction - at the intersection of people, process, and place.

BWBR is a 170+ person, full-service architecture and interior design firm serving healthcare, education, science and technology, behavioral health, corporate, civic, and community markets. Our culture is guided by our core values: Be Curious, Be Inclusive, Be Grateful, Strive for Excellence, and Own It.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Data Analytics & Visualization

* Build and maintain dashboards and visualizations (Tableau, PowerBI) for client-facing and internal use.

* Translate complex datasets into clear, compelling visual narratives that support strategic, operational, financial, and facility-based insights.

* Clean, validate, and analyze data, identify trends, anomalies, and data quality issues.

* Forecast and model trends to inform design strategy and client decision-making.

* Support proposals, reports, and presentations through data-driven insights.

* Contribute to firm-wide data strategy, governance standards, and best practices in collaboration with the Data & Information Services Director.

* Assist with creation and troubleshooting data workflows and ETL updates to data warehouse as needed.

Design Research

* Support evidence-based design (EBD) and research initiatives using quantitative and qualitative methods.

* Assist with survey design, data collection, and analysis for pre- and post-occupancy evaluations (POEs) to assess whether design intent is achieving desired outcomes.

* Analyze and synthesize project data to help demonstrate design effectiveness and inform future planning and design decisions.

* Translate research and performance findings into clear narratives for clients, publications, and internal knowledge-sharing.

Experience:

* 5+ years of experience in data analysis and visualization, or applied research (architecture, design, planning, or adjacent industries preferred).

* Demonstrated experience supporting projects independently while collaborating across teams.

Technical Skill:

* Advanced proficiency in Tableau, PowerBI or similar visualization tools.

* Working proficiency in SQL and experience with Python or R for data analysis.

* Strong understanding of data systems, data flows, and analytics workflows.

* Experience applying statistical concepts such as correlation, regression, and descriptive statistics.

Abilities & Traits:

* Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.

* Ability to translate data and research into insights accessible to non-technical audiences.

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

* Sound judgement and ability to prioritize high-impact work.

* Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with multiple priorities.

* Commitment to data security, integrity, and client confidentiality.

If you would enjoy working in a highly energized, creatively satisfying team environment, we'd love to hear from you.
