We seek a Transition to Operations Engineer to guide the shift from development, integration, and test into operational acceptance and sustainment. You will define readiness criteria, ensure supportability, and coordinate stakeholders to execute a disciplined, successful transition for space and ground systems.



Role/Responsibilities/Qualifications

You will plan and execute transition to operations, collaborate across government, FFRDC, and contractor teams, drive lifecycle integration, and communicate effectively with leadership, engineering, and operations communities.

Key responsibilities include:

    Lead and support TTO planning and execution for space and ground systems.

  • Ensure operational readiness and supportability across teams.

  • Define readiness criteria, transition plans, and operational concepts.

  • Support lifecycle integration across requirements, V&V, integration, and test.

  • Engage stakeholders across leadership, engineering, and operations.

Required Qualifications

  • 6 or more years supporting large national security space missions in SE&I.

  • 5 or more years leading or supporting TTO for DoD space or ground software programs.

  • Space or ground segment operations experience, including test, checkout, or operational acceptance.

  • Experience with DoD acquisition, stakeholder engagement, and program or project management.

  • Knowledge of systems engineering management and processes; Bachelor's degree in STEM.

Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge of SPF 13-604


Clearance & Additional Requirements

  • U.S. Citizen.

  • Secret Clearance

  • On-site expectation: El Segundo, CA.

Compensation:

The typical annual salary range for this position is approximately, USD $125,000 - $150,000. Individual pay is determined by many factors including work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. In addition to salary, this position is also eligible for a discretionary annual performance bonus, profit sharing / retirement plan and other benefits (all in addition to annual base salary).



Deliverable(s)

Deliverables could be in the format of a report, software file, briefing, spreadsheet, or other document as directed by the Government, using government approved and/or mandated systems/software and processes governed by guidance/instructions/policy or direction. The nature of this work will, at times, require quick responses to stringent deadlines and always in a high quality, professional manner.
