Position Summary

The Director of HCP (Healthcare Professional) Promotion will play a critical role in shaping the promotional strategy, driving demand, and ensuring consistent, high-quality execution of HCP promotion. The Director will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and agency partners to ensure cohesive and impactful HCP engagement.

This position is remote with a corporate headquarters in Foster City, CA and Parsippany, NJ. The Director will report to the Vice President, Marketing.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead the HCP promotional strategy, including message development, customer segmentation, and personal promotional tactics
  • Drive field-informed strategy by closely partnering with sales leadership to ensure promotional efforts reflect real-world insights and frontline perspectives
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Market Access, Medical Affairs, and IR & Corporate Communications to ensure message consistency and alignment across all stakeholders
  • Build and sustain strong relationships with the Promotional Review Committee (PRC), fostering a collaborative environment to review and refine promotional content in compliance with regulatory standard
  • Partner with Business Insights & Analytics to identify market research needs and implement metrics-based methodologies to assess and optimize promotional effectiveness
  • Continuously monitor the business landscape, including customer needs and competitive dynamics and integrate insights into strategic planning
  • Ensure full compliance with Company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards in all marketing activities
  • Communicate brand strategy and performance through regular updates to internal stakeholders
  • Support annual Brand Plan of Action (BPOA) planning with cross-functional team partnership
  • Provide senior leadership updates on the Brand Plan of Action (BPOA), ensuring strategic visibility and alignment at the senior leadership level
  • Manage vendors and initiatives within the approved promotional budget
  • Manage Agency of Record (AOR) relationships, ensuring alignment of strategic priorities and effective oversight of the promotional budget
  • Champion a culture of learning and innovation, applying best practices and lessons learned from past experience to continuously enhance marketing excellence

Competencies

  • Solid understanding of key market dynamics within competitive environments and their implications to product strategy and messaging through market research, customer interactions, etc.
  • Established oncology experience, strong scientific acumen, and a proven ability to translate clinical differentiation into compelling, compliant promotional messaging
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to collaborate in a highly cross-functional environment
  • Strong strategic agility with the ability to analyze complex business issues and opportunities, adapt to evolving market and competitive dynamics, and utilize sound judgment to establish appropriate objectives
  • Solid understanding of clinical trial design, drug development process, and promotional regulatory processes

Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or life sciences required, advanced degree with commensurate experience preferred
  • A minimum of 9 years of progressive experience in marketing within the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry and/or healthcare agency
  • Prior oncology product launch experience required; launch experience during COVID a plus
  • Extensive experience with developing and executing marketing strategies and tactics, market research and analysis, and interactions with sales teams
  • Experience managing multiple external agencies efficiently and effectively

Salary Statement:

Offered compensation is determined based on market data, internal equity, and an applicant's relevant skills, experience, and educational background.

General Salary Range: $220,000 to $245,000
