Under the direction of the Director of Quality, the Senior Infection Prevention Specialist will participate in the implementation, review and support of the facility infection prevention plan. They will support the Infection Preventionists in their work with patient care teams in achieving high quality and best possible outcomes and will serve as a subject matter expert in infection prevention.
The Senior Infection Prevention Specialist will collaborate with leadership, coworkers and medical staff to develop, implement, improve, monitor and champion processes related to key infection control strategies. They will help to design and implement infection preventions strategies to decrease infection risks to patients. Onsite position location at Mercy Hospital South The Senior Infection Prevention Specialist will perform duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards. Position Details: Education: Bachelor's of Science in clinical healthcare or a health science related field (e.g., nursing, lab sciences, public health or related field). An associate's degree or Nursing diploma and commensurate experience in lieu of the bachelor's degree, in addition to the required experience, may be considered. Certification/Registration: Certification in Infection Prevention (e.g., CIC) or equivalent required within 3 years of hire.
