Summary

The candidate will be in a customer-facing role and provide specialist consulting advice to industrial clients primarily in the area of Fuels and Chemicals including renewable and low carbon fuels such as Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), Renewable Deisel (RD), Biodiesel, hydrogen and methanol and associated low carbon technologies such as carbon capture and e-fuels. The candidate is expected to develop close client relationship that leads to the successful execution of consulting studies as well as the development of new consulting business. The candidate will have and develop in-depth know-how of preliminary process design, material balances, utility balances, cost-estimating, financial analysis, technology and operations in order to work with a diverse set of clients to offer bespoke solutions. Operating experience at a plant in one of the above sectors is highly desired as is technology solutions through the implementation, design or troubleshooting licensed and open-art technology.

The job functions are Consulting customer facing project execution and business development experience with such activities as frequently engaging on a professional level with potential clients, developing proposals and value proposition and providing technical advice. The candidate must have experience and the desire to network with customers to generate value driven sales opportunities.

Responsibilities And Accountabilities

  • Lead the execution of consulting-related activities, which will include supporting refining, chemical, fertilizer and/or low-carbon projects.
  • Provide advisory services to clients including benchmarking, gap analysis, solution identification, justification, prioritization, ranking, and implementation.
  • Network with customers and engage in pro-active selling of consulting work.
  • Manage and mentor team members to complete assigned tasks on budget and schedule.
  • Lead business development activities from initial relationship building through proposal development for consulting services.
  • Delivery of thought leadership papers, conference presentation at domestic and international events.
  • Represent Worley Consulting in fuels and chemicals initiatives across the Worley Group
  • Lead and mentor less experienced consultants
  • Support a continuous improvement culture.
  • Proactively, engage low-cost resources from South America and APAC to build a capable team to enhance domestic cost competitiveness.

Experience And Qualifications

The candidates must demonstrate competency and experience in the following:

  • Strong interest and ability to work in a 'sell-do' business model.
  • Strong self-starter and motivated to succeed.
  • Ability to manage deliverables for multiple projects at the same time.
  • Experience and knowledge of process design and technologies to produce refining fuels, chemicals, fertilizers, renewable fuels and chemicals and/or carbon capture.
  • Strong technical acumen and problem-solving, optimization, and analysis mindset.
  • Quick learner and positive "can-do" mindset.
  • Understands the development of PFDs, P&IDs, Project Schedules, and Plot Plans.
  • Experience with process plant design and sizing, equipment sizing, heat exchanger sizing, pump and compressor sizing.
  • Process modelling experience using Aspen/HYSYS. PetroSim, UniSim, HTRI, PROII, or PetroPlan.
  • Demonstrated ability to "think like an owner" and make pragmatic, economic driven recommendations.
  • Excellent communication skills including ability to produce concise reports and presentations.

    Preferred Qualifications/Requirements

  • Chemical Engineering degree or equivalent
  • Relevant process engineering experience
  • This position offers hybrid work with minimum days in-office
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
  • Able and willing to travel on occasional short-duration business trips
