Job Description (General Summary)

Intralox, L.L.C. located in Hanover, MD is looking for an Automation Specialist on our innovative Development team. The Hanover location is headquarters to our innovation in conveyance equipment and supports product releases to our global customers. The development team is responsible for all phases of innovation, from ideation to full product release. To achieve this, the Test Controls Technician supports Test Engineers with validating all theoretical performance requirements as well as equipment robustness and durability. This role will be focused on the Activated Roller Belt (ARB) Equipment space.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Design and deploy PLC code for controlling conveyor test loops via VFD's, E-stops, Photoeyes, Actuators, Sensors, Alarms, I/O, etc
  • Edit existing test conveyor and developmental conveyor system code to support testing needs and development
  • Write, implement, document and debug software for controls systems including field devices such as photoeyes, shaft encoders, barcode scanners, solenoids, scales, etc....
  • Optimize test loop architecture by developing standardized setup procedures, refining configuration workflows, and implementing leandriven process controls to reduce cycle time, improve resource utilization, and enhance repeatability across test operations.
  • Serve as a liaison between R&D Controls Engineers and Test Engineers

Requirements:

  • High school diploma
  • Minimum of 5 years' software programming experience in industrial automation
  • Good knowledge and experience with Rockwell Controls or Siemens or Beckhoff or other Controls Platform and comfortable in ladder logic and structured text.
  • Proficient in configuring PLC's, HMI's, computers, networks, cameras and variable frequency drives which are used to control sorters, conveyors, and other related equipment.
  • Experience in AutoCAD Electrical for control circuit development or similar experience.
  • Ability to lift 40lbs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Positive, proactive attitude, with attention to detail.
  • Understanding of mechanical systems; willingness to work with hand tools.
  • Ability and willingness to travel (both domestic and international) and perform field service (10-15%), work weekends holidays and overtime when required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the conveyor , industrial automation, or product handling industry
  • Experience with BECKHOFF Controls Platform and TwinCAT programming
  • Experience with MATLAB programming

The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Intralox considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training and key skills. The position is eligible for one of the following: commissions, discretionary incentives, or production incentives according to the terms of those plans

Salary Range $44,700 to $93,200.
