Job description: Detailer Internship McHugh Concrete has been building Chicago's skyline for over 127+ years. We are an elite concrete subcontractor specializing on all applications of vertical, cast-in-place concrete structures - parking garages, high-rises, mid-rises, healthcare facilities, commercial buildings, foundations, etc. Additionally, we operate in both Nashville, TN and Indianapolis, IN. MCC's internship program offers students an opportunity to engage with business leaders and participate in day to day operations. Students will gain invaluable experience in the construction industry as well as general knowledge of a company atmosphere and culture. The internship program is designed to give students the opportunity to gain insight into the working world and exposure to departments like field construction, project management, estimating, safety, detailer/modeling, design & structural & tech engineering. Through our 12-week internship program, you'll gain hands-on experience that strengthens your resume and lays the groundwork for your professional career. You'll be exposed to the full life cycle of a construction project by working alongside our estimating, field, and project management teams-while having the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on active projects. You'll also build strong connections across the organization through jobsite tours, company events, and other team-focused experiences. EXAMPLE OF RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepare and create 3D computer models of cast-in-place concrete work to allow construction team to accurately place the building components using 3D coordinates taken from the model. Assist in discovery of design errors and interference issues. Create models allowing project teams to show the Owner a 3D representation of the finished project. Manage all Autodesk accounts and licenses. Other duties and responsibilities as required. Detail drawings using Tekla for field use. ELIGIBILITY: Students going into their sophomore, junior or senior year of marketing or related major.
