The Fellow/Senior Technical Fellow will serve as a visionary technical leader, driving innovation and transformation in propulsion systems. This role focuses on delivering advanced calibrations and specifications to achieve world-class vehicle drivability, performance, efficiency, safety, and regulatory compliance. Will lead the evolution of Calibration processes, leveraging virtual development methodologies to minimize physical testing and exceed performance and budget targets.
This role will collaborate with pre-development teams, chief engineering, and product release centers to advance future gasoline engine projects, integrating cutting-edge combustion and aftertreatment strategies into next-generation propulsion systems. Key Responsibilities:
- Define and deliver calibrations and specifications ensuring optimal vehicle performance, efficiency, safety, and compliance.
- Lead pre-development of gasoline engines, including advanced combustion concepts, fuel system strategies, and aftertreatment integration.
- Implement and standardize Calibration development processes to enhance quality and operational efficiency.
- Utilize virtual development methodologies to accelerate innovation and reduce reliance on physical properties.
- Drive cultural and organizational transformation aligned with mobility strategies.
- Serve as a technical authority and mentor, fostering knowledge transfer and capability building across engineering teams.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate emission and aftertreatment strategies into product development.
Additional Information: Travel Requirements: 10% normally, or up to 25% as needed based on project. Work Location: Headquarters, full-time onsite. Reporting structure: Reports directly to VP of PRS Calibration Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- 15+ years of total work experience, including 10+ years applying specialty expertise.
- Sustained record of technical achievement and excellence.
- Demonstrated ability to teach, lead, and inspire technical teams.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for complex technical topics.
- Strong understanding of engine and combustion fundamentals.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to train and coach technical specialists and engineers.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- Published papers and/or patents in relevant technical areas.
- Experience in people leadership and organizational development.
- Full V-cycle experience for controls/software development.
- Direct contributions to production deliverables.
- Hands-on experience with modeled algorithms and production software.
- Proficiency in plant model utilization for complex problem-solving.
