| Position Summary |
The Digital Accessibility Associate helps ensure that College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences (
CAES) digital content meets institutional and federal accessibility standards. This position coordinates accessibility efforts across the college, providing consultation, training, and technical support to faculty and staff. The specialist will create or remediate high-profile digital content, conduct accessibility testing and audits, and assist with accessibility reviews during new website launches. The role also includes developing and maintaining accessibility training materials and resources, as well as serving as the primary
UGA Digital Accessibility Liaison for
CAES. In addition, the specialist will supervise a student assistant focused on accessibility projects and provide general support for web content updates and new site builds. This position will be the key role responsible for developing and delivering the education, guidance, and technical assistance involved in assuring digital accessibility compliance throughout
CAES. |

- Knowledge of web accessibility standards and guidelines, including WCAG 2.1/2.2, Section 508, and WAI-ARIA.

- In collaboration with the CAES Web Support Team participate in website updates, maintenance, and client support. This includes making website content updates as requested by website owners using CAES content management systems such as WordPress and AEM, conducting routine technical and editorial maintenance of websites, and offering direct client support to site owners and web content managers via email, chat, and virtual meeting.
- Collaborate on the development and launch of new websites and digital projects for clients within CAES (individuals, departments, units).
- Help conduct new website reviews for accessibility compliance.
- Manage a student worker to assist in these and related duties .

- Provide leadership and oversight for digital accessibility efforts for the college across all departments and units.
- Conduct accessibility testing and audits of CAES digital content manually or with automated tools such as DubBot or SiteImprove, communicating audit results to site owners and stakeholders, tracking and reporting progress toward compliance, and helping to prioritize problems in need of remediation.
- Serve as the UGA, CAES Digital Accessibility Liaison for web representing CAES with the larger UGA accessibility community.
