Microsoft AI (MAI) team builds innovative and responsible AI-powered personalized web experiences across Microsoft Copilot, Edge & Bing, that inform, entertain, add value, save money, and breathe productivity into the life and work of millions of customers. The Search and AI Platform team in MAI delivers the cutting-edge infrastructure to run Bing, Edge, MSN Feeds and copilot scenarios. The Search and AI Platform is looking for a strong Product manager to lead the future of the largest distributed computing & AI platform at Microsoft.

As a Senior Product Manager at MAI, you will be responsible for driving innovation and building the platform that delivers a high-quality search and grounding results to 100s of millions of daily active users around the world. You will need to have a passion to bring in product innovation to solve real customer pain points as well as fix quality gaps on existing stack.

Responsibilities
  • Define product vision and strategy by understanding of customer needs, leadership vision and competitive market.
  • Identifies short-and long-term investment opportunities, evaluates tradeoffs, and drives the product roadmap.
  • Drive innovation in search and grounding for Bing, Copilot and Office users by working closely with engineering, product and leadership.
  • Make personalized News, Web, image, and video recommendations to millions of users, globally.
  • Empower hundreds of scientists to quickly and safely experiment and continually improve the product.
  • Evolve multi-tenant platforms for infra for Storage & Inferencing such as ObjectStore, HDFS, Spark and Kafka for Big Data and NRT processing.
  • Do inventory and capacity management of the complex fleet of CPU and GPU running these large systems.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 5+ years experience in product/service/program management or software developmentOR equivalent experience.
  • Experience in driving big cross organization initiatives in deep technical area such as search.
  • Understand scaling challenges with open-source technologies like HDFS, Spark & Kafka.
Additional or Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years experience improving product metrics for a product, feature, or experience in a market (e.g., growing customer base, expanding customer usage, avoiding customer churn).
  • Experience in LLM evals, metrics, quality is a big plus.
  • Has successfully built and ran large scale cloud/distributed compute, storage and inferencing systems and products.
  • Experience with inventory and capacity management understanding the demand, supply and engineering dependencies, compliance and security related activities.

Product Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
