Title: Accounting Clerk I

Duration: 6 Months

Location: Richmond, Virginia 23233

Pay Rate: $22.00 - $24.00 hourly on W2

Responsibilities:

• Perform administrative and clerical accounting functions.
• Assist in the processing of outgoing claim payments.
• Data entry into the claims and financial systems.
• Process check, deposit, and other daily banking transactions.
• Print invoices/statements and prepare for mailing to customers.
• Research payments and process charges/refunds in the system of record.
• Liaise with customer service to resolve customer inquiries.
• Process Unclaimed Property letters to meet regulatory requirements.
• Prepare digital imaging of accounting documents/archiving.
• Lend support during audit/close requests and new customer/partner onboarding activities.
• Regular, predictable, reliable attendance is an essential function of this position.
• May perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Knowledge of large-scale accounting and business intelligence systems.
• Intermediate-level MS Excel knowledge.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Proven ability to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities.
• Proven ability to maintain a positive and professional attitude.
• Associate's degree in finance, Accounting, or related field, or equivalent combination of work and education experience.
• Two years of experience working in a financial setting environment.
