*Employment Type:* 12-Month W2 Contract (40-hour work weeks)
*Location:* 100% Remote (US-based, standard business hours in your time zone) We're partnering with a leading cloud software organization to expand their *Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery (BCDR)* capabilities for a fleet of cloud-based products. This is a *high-visibility role* where you'll help stand up and mature a new BCDR program that directly impacts platform resiliency, regulatory compliance, and customer trust. If you have a strong background in *disaster recovery for cloud environments* and enjoy working closely with technical teams to build and test real-world recovery plans, this could be a great next step. What You'll Do *Disaster Recovery Planning & Documentation* * Develop, maintain, and update *disaster recovery (DR) plans, runbooks, and procedures* for cloud-based products. * Document and maintain the *schedule for fleet-wide DR testing activities*. * Identify and maintain an inventory of *internal applications and critical systems*, including their dependencies. * Track and maintain *Recovery Time Objectives (RTOs)* and *Recovery Point Objectives (RPOs)* for critical applications. * Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure DR plans align with business and regulatory requirements. * Help develop and standardize *corporate DR templates* and *fleet templates* within a BCDR platform (e.g., Fusion Framework). * Work with application teams to build and migrate plans into a centralized BCDR tool. *Testing & Validation* * Plan, coordinate, and execute *annual DR exercises* (e.g., tabletop, functional, and full production tests). * Support *fleet-wide testing programs*, including failover tests and simulation drills. * Ensure exercises are properly executed and documented in the BCDR platform. * Document test results, identify gaps, and track remediation activities through closure. * Partner with system and application owners to *validate recovery strategies* and ensure operational readiness. *Monitoring, Governance & Compliance* * Assist in maintaining compliance with *industry standards and regulatory requirements* (e.g., ISO 22301, FFIEC, NIST, DORA). * Track and report *DR metrics*, testing outcomes, and risk exposure to leadership. * Support *third-party/vendor assessments* to confirm that external recovery capabilities meet organizational standards. *Incident Response Support* * Provide support during actual *outages or crises*, including DR plan activation and coordination. * Work with IT and business stakeholders to ensure *timely escalation, communication, and recovery execution*. *Continuous Improvement & Enablement* * Research industry *best practices and emerging technologies* in disaster recovery and resilience. * Recommend improvements to DR processes, tooling, and documentation. * Train end users and stakeholders on *BCDR policies, procedures, and expectations*. * Collaborate with a Business Continuity Program Manager and other leads to execute on a *multi-year resiliency roadmap*. * Participate in training (e.g., BCDR/ Fusion platform classes) after onboarding. What You Bring *Core Experience* * *3-5 years* of experience in *Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity, IT Resiliency, or a closely related field*. * Hands-on experience *building and maintaining BCDR plans for technical, cloud-based products*. * Demonstrated ability to work effectively with *engineering / technical teams* to: * Gather requirements * Validate recovery strategies * Align them to *regulatory and compliance* requirements *Technical Skills* * Understanding of *data backup, replication, and failover* processes. * Familiarity with *cloud recovery solutions* (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and *hybrid environments*. * Knowledge of core infrastructure components: * Servers, storage, networks, virtualization * Application dependencies and upstream/downstream impacts * Experience with *BCDR tools* such as Fusion Framework, ServiceNow, Archer, or similar platforms. * Ability to develop and maintain *dashboards, metrics, and reports* for leadership. *Professional Skills* * Strong *organizational and project management* skills with high attention to detail. * Excellent *written and verbal communication*, including documentation and presenting findings to stakeholders. * Ability to *influence and guide technical teams*, helping them understand and align to BCDR processes and compliance requirements. * Strong *analytical and problem-solving* skills with a proactive, ownership-driven mindset. Nice to Have * Experience building *BCDR programs for SaaS or cloud platform products*. * background in *regulated environments*, especially financial or other highly regulated industries. * Experience in environments where *regulatory requirements drive DR testing cadence* (monthly, quarterly, yearly). * Prior involvement in standing up *new DR templates and frameworks* across a product fleet. * Experience migrating DR plans into a centralized tool such as *Fusion Framework*.
