Position Summary

As a Senior Test Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the operational readiness and reliability of advanced acoustic systems that protect the naval fleets of the United States and its allies. You will lead and execute production test strategies that safeguard mission success, delivering high-performance systems that meet rigorous military standards for quality, precision, and dependability.

Job Description

Mission & Impact

In this role, you will ensure that every system leaving the production line performs flawlessly in the environments where failure is not an option. You will serve as the technical authority for manufacturing test execution, driving quality, reducing risk, and enabling timely delivery of mission-critical hardware to the fleet.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure production test execution supports schedule, cost, and uncompromising quality standards required for naval defense systems.

  • Lead the development, validation, and continuous improvement of test strategies for complex electronic and acoustic assemblies.

  • Own test documentation, procedures, and training to ensure repeatability, compliance, and audit readiness.

  • Rapidly diagnose and resolve test failures to minimize production disruption and maintain program commitments.

  • Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions to eliminate recurring defects and strengthen product reliability.

  • Partner with Design, Manufacturing, Quality, and Operations to develop scalable, automated, and efficient test solutions.

  • Design and implement manual, semi-automated, or fully automated test stations aligned with MIL and ISO standards.

  • Develop integration and Final Acceptance Test (FAT) plans to validate system-level performance prior to customer delivery.

  • Analyze production test data to identify trends, mitigate risk, and improve long-term system performance.

  • Support new product introductions by establishing robust, repeatable test processes from initial build through full-rate production.

  • Contribute as a member of the Material Review Board (MRB), influencing disposition decisions and driving systemic improvements.

  • Ensure production test infrastructure, equipment, and fixtures remain reliable and mission-ready.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering, or related discipline.

  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing test engineering within a highly regulated environment.

  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing electronic test protocols and automation solutions.

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, particularly with complex PCB/PCBA assemblies and high-frequency electronics.

  • Experience operating in ESD-controlled and documentation-intensive environments.

  • Ability to work independently while leading cross-functional collaboration.

  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance.

Desired Skills

  • Experience testing systems to MIL and/or ISO standards.

  • Familiarity with sonar, signal processing, communication systems, or high-frequency electronic platforms.

  • Experience designing and automating test systems using C/C++, Python, LabVIEW, Linux, Java, or similar platforms.

  • Knowledge of IPC-610 and IPC-620 standards.

  • Experience with high-voltage/high-current applications and advanced measurement equipment.

  • Background in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.

  • Familiarity with configuration management systems (Agile PLM, Surround SCM, TestTrack).

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs., 3 feet off the ground.

  • Ability to safely operate lifting equipment in support of testing activities.
