Position Summary The College of Business at MSU Denver invites applications for Academic Advisors, either at the Academic Advisor I or Academic Advisor II level. The Academic Advisor I at MSU Denver is primarily responsible for advising a caseload of students on degree requirements and providing long-term degree planning.Academic advisors help students develop educational goals and define a career path, through use of a variety of advising approaches and tools. Further, they monitor student progress, making targeted outreach to students to address potential obstacles in retention and graduation. Academic advisors also participate in University-wide and unit-specific advising initiatives. In addition to the responsibilities above, the Academic Advisor II at MSU Denver works with advising leadership, immediate supervisors, and faculty and/or staff where appropriate, to understand advising and retention data and student success implementation strategies. Salary for Announcement Under Colorado law, MSU Denver is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role and should not offer a salary outside of the range posted in this job announcement. This range takes into account a variety of factors including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, analysis of internal equity, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience. The salary ranges that the University reasonably expects to pay for these positions are established at: Academic Advisor I: $49,000 - $52,000 These positions are paid monthly and are eligible for MSU Denver benefits.
