Overview

Metalcraft of Mayville is hiring a 1st Shift Mold Shop Technician!

Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, Mold Shop Technicians maintain and repair production tooling. They also support production needs as they arise.

1st Shift Hours (6am - 2:00pm, Monday - Friday)

Responsibilities

  • Maintains all in-house molds in production ready condition.
  • Schedules mold repairs accordingly to avoid downtime and still produce quality.
  • Works closely with Engineering Department on new molds, revisions, and/or changes to existing molds.
  • Maintains safe and clean operations by adhering to safety procedures and company 6S requirements.
  • Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
  • Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Must be proficient in MIG and TIG welding techniques. Additional training and certification in industrial technology and welding strongly preferred.
  • Must have the ability to apply detailed, quality craftsmanship relating to mold maintenance and repair.
  • Must have the ability to operate and get certified to drive a forklift.
  • Must be able to use and operate safely the following equipment, tools, and instruments: welder, torches, hoists, multiple hand tools, power saws, grinders, drills and routers, gauges and measuring devices, and all required safety PPE.
  • Ability to efficiently work in a team and coordinate work with other departments.
  • Aptitude to take orders and execute the same efficiently.
  • High school degree, diploma or a GED equivalent qualification from is accredited institution.
  • Demonstrated detail orientation, self-motivation skills and ability to multi-task.
