Job Description

The Johnson County Planning and Development Department seeks to fill an opening for an Education & Event Coordinator (Training II) within the Contractor Licensing division.

This position will remain open until 9:00 pm, February 11, 2026

Duties include:

    Coordinates the planning, administration, promotion, and evaluation of continuing education and training programs in collaboration with the Contractor Licensing Program Manager.
  • Implements established programming content standards, learning objectives, evaluation metrics, and promotional expectations aligned with organizational strategy, regulatory requirements, and accreditation standards. Assists with curriculum review for course approvals, identification of training needs, preparation of instructional materials, and support of e-learning platforms.
  • Creates the annual training schedule; maintains learning records, transcripts, evaluations, and attendance tracking for compliance purposes; analyzes survey and performance data; and prepares summaries and reports for management review.
  • Supports program promotion and communications, maintains presenter standards and coordinates presenter engagement, and represents programs and events to internal and external stakeholders, including boards and partner organizations.
  • Provides logistical, administrative, and resource coordination for training programs, including inventory tracking, procurement support, vendor coordination, travel and event logistics, and preparation of correspondence and operational schedules.
  • Supports budget development and tracking without approval authority; assists with supplemental funding coordination and financial reporting; and contributes recommendations regarding administrative policies and procedures.
  • Coordinates staff assignments for training events, participates on related committees, supports IACET accreditation compliance, and contributes to continuous improvement of continuing education and training programs.


Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Organizational Development, Education, Curriculum and Instruction, Human Resources, Industrial and Organizational Psychology, Instructional Design and Technology, Business Education or relevant field is required.

Two (2) years of relevant experience is also required.

Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP); or relevant certification preferred.
