GENERAL SUMMARY:

Responsible for performing graphic design, layout and production control. Develops ideas/designs for large format printing applications. Inventories and maintains a weekly supply of facility forms. Operates printing equipment including photocopier, paper folder, collator, paper drill, laminator, paper cutter, perforator and fax machine. Helps manage and maintain the record storage area.

PRINCIPAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. *Commits to the mission, vision, beliefs and consistently demonstrates our core values.

2. *Performs design and layout functions of materials for reproduction purposes according to Printing Services policies and procedures and to customer specifications.

3. *Responsible for conducting weekly forms inventory and maintaining adequate supply of forms.

4. *Operates photocopier, paper folder, collator, paper drill, laminator, paper cutter, perforator and fax machine.

5. *Inventories and replenishes work area paper stock supply, ink and chemicals.

6. Manages and maintains records in the records storage area.

7. Boxes and wraps all materials for distribution

8. Accurately marks and wraps re-order points of all forms to ensure adequate notice for reordering forms.

9. Packages and ships all materials for entities outside the Medical Center; coordinates the pick of all local network office printed materials through a courier.

10. Assists in the installation of large format applications on and off site.

11. Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.

12. Participates in meetings, committees and department projects as assigned.

13. Performs other related projects and duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

1. Knowledge of bindery methods and equipment.

2. Knowledge of Adobe design software.

3. Knowledge of computer hardware equipment and software applications relevant to work functions.

4. Skill in proofing and communication skills to coordinate projects.

5. Ability to perform general inventory and replenishment functions.

6. Ability to lift printing materials and paper stock weighing up to 50 pounds.

7. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

8. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of personnel and medical staff.

9. Ability to problem solve and engage independent critical thinking skills.

10. Ability to maintain confidentiality relevant to sensitive information.

11. Ability to prioritize work demands and work with minimal supervision.

12. Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or equivalency required. Associates degree preferred. Two (2) years' experience in graphic layout and design required. Prior experience in basic bindery work and inventory control preferred.
