Job Description




As a Security Officer - Armed Federal Rover in Homestead, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government public transportation location, you will conduct routine foot and vehicle-area patrols, remain highly visible, and respond to incidents while supporting a positive rider and employee experience. You will communicate clearly with staff and first responders, document security-related activity, and help to reduce disruptions through presence and professionalism. This post requires an Armed Guard Card or License and a commitment to act with integrity.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to riders, employees, and visitors by following Allied Universal procedures, site-specific post orders, and security-related protocols at a government transit location.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of stations, platforms, transit centers, parking areas, and perimeter locations; identify irregular conditions and report concerns per policy.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; coordinate with transit personnel and local law enforcement as directed.
  • Control access to restricted areas by checking credentials, monitoring entrances and/or gates, and supporting screening procedures when assigned.
  • Complete detailed reports on incidents, patrol activity, and observed conditions; preserve information and/or evidence in accordance with site procedures and legal requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have 3+ years combined law enforcement, military, and/or security-related experience or a college degree.
  • Possess an Armed Guard Card and/or license.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma and/or GED as required by the client.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • CPR certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
