Job Description:

Microchip has an opening for an experienced semiconductor Fab Production Specialist Lead in their Colorado Springs Wafer Fabrication facility (Fab5).

We are building a team of positive and productive people that have a passion to work hard and enjoy what we do and the people that we work with.

Shift: Back Nights (D) every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, every other Saturday 7pm-7:12am

Job Responsibilities

  • Supports Microchip's Guiding Values and Culture.
  • Role models our culture and displays professional leadership skills while setting a positive example to the Production Specialists.
  • Utilizes line management skills to facilitate workflow and achieve fab goals by understanding upstream and downstream areas and operations and how they impact overall line balance.
  • Works with the area personnel to understand area issues that impact performance.
  • Promotes and initiates continuous improvement activities including participation in area improvement teams such as WATs and ASTs.
  • Ensures SPACE SPC data is accurate and SPC violations are addressed and Corrective Actions assigned in a timely manner.
  • Participates with Specialists and Supervisors in problem solving processes about scrap and misprocesses.
  • Plans and supports training of Production Specialists.
  • Assigns and communicates information about resource coverage on shift.
  • Follows Microchip Policies and Procedures and adheres to clean room requirements.
  • Carries out management directives in a positive and influential manner.
  • Demonstrates good judgment in terms of reaching sound decisions.
  • Demonstrates high attention to quality.
  • Ensures equipment is operated in a safe and productive manner.
  • Communicates effectively with their team, with management, and with all support groups.
  • Promotes a solid and positive team environment.
  • Ensures customer satisfaction by promoting mutual respect and practicing professional interactions with other leads, specialists, supervisors, and support groups.
  • Maintains clear and concise pass downs with other shifts and works toward a common goal.
  • Operates highly complex equipment processing wafers through many successive operations required to manufacture semiconductor devices.
  • Responsible for coordinating the area break/lunch schedule to ensure adequate coverage.
  • Drives their own development and growth to continuously improve their expertise and leadership skills
  • Provide coverage for Production Specialists lunches and breaks to ensure critical equipment is staffed and running at all times.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Previous in-depth Fab production experience in a clean room environment is required.
  • Maintain and exhibit positive and productive attitudes and behavior with others.
  • Willingness to participate in building a positive culture and contribute to a pleasant work environment.
  • The ability to work on multiple different tasks throughout the day by focusing on one task at a time and paying careful attention to detail until completed, then quickly moving on to the next task.
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality.
  • Adaptability to change and a willingness to do whatever is needed for the team to be successful.
  • Is a continuous learner and desires to enhance his/her skills and knowledge.
  • Produces quality work, takes the job seriously, and displays good work habits.

  • Ability to wear and work in a cleanroom suit and PPE for the full shift.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks while paying careful attention to detail and completing one thing at a time.

  • Consistent history of demonstrating Microchip's First Principles contained in our Ethos.
  • Demonstration of ability to effectively prioritize and support multiple different demands throughout the scheduled work hours.
  • Ability to follow direction (both written and verbal).
  • Ability to read, comprehend and follow detailed work specifications for each piece of equipment.
  • Proficiency in written and oral communication.
  • Personal availability to work compressed shift schedule.
  • Good computer, math and reading comprehension skills.

Ability to stand 95%, walk 90%, sit 5%. Must also be able to carry and lift 6lbs, and push and pull up to 85 lbs on wheels.

The hourly pay range for this position, which could be performed in the US, is $18-32/hr.*

*Range is dependent on numerous factors including job location, skills and experience.
