Where you will work:
This position offers a hybrid work option up to 50% remote and is open to any Compeer office location in Illinois, Minnesota and Wisconsin.

The contributions you will make:

This position oversees the credit scorecard operations of an assigned team, focusing on credit administration, loan verification and processing, approvals within delegated authority, and monitoring and reporting of credit activity across the organization's scorecard portfolio and relevant business units. The role supports the development and structuring of credit scorecard programs and contributes to process improvements aimed at delivering excellent service, ensuring effective credit administration, and maintaining strong credit quality with appropriate risk-adjusted returns. It guides and supports team members within the assigned group, including assisting with recruitment, fostering professional development, providing feedback, and encouraging motivation. A key priority is promoting high levels of team engagement and cultivating a positive and collaborative work environment.

A typical day:





  • Leadership and Management



    • Supports the implementation of strategies and tactics for the organization's scorecard program and team, aligning with department goals.
    • Oversees adherence to department policies, procedures, and practices to ensure consistency and compliance.
    • Guides and supports team members through coaching, training, and feedback to foster professional development and engagement.
    • Responsible for selecting, developing, motivating, engaging, educating, evaluating, and compensating direct reports within the department.



  • Credit Administration and Reporting



    • Monitors monthly scorecard lending performance and ensures the accuracy of financial, collateral, and loan classifications.
    • Supports the team in making credit exception decisions and provides training on the use of scorecard lending tools.
    • Acts as a key resource for audit-related matters and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to enhance credit processes.
    • Implements and maintains scorecard lending policies and procedures.



  • Client Service



    • Oversees the timely turnaround of credit scoring requests to ensure prompt and accurate service delivery.
    • Provides education and guidance to lending partners on automated decision-making tools and processes.
    • Supports organizational goals, including market share growth, by collaborating with other departments to deliver products and services effectively.



  • Automated Decisioning Expertise



    • Keeps up to date with industry trends to ensure the organization remains competitive and compliant.
    • Provides education and guidance to lending partners on automated decisioning tools and processes.
    • Serves as the primary point of contact for credit bureau vendors, maintaining positive relationships and ensuring proper use of data.





The skills and experience we prefer you have:




  • Bachelor's degree in agricultural economics, finance, accounting, business administration or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Intermediate level of experience in agriculture or finance required with 3-5 years of agricultural credit experience preferred.
  • One or more leadership and management experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of federal and state (Illinois, Minnesota, and Wisconsin) laws, regulations and compliance requirements specific to the financial industry and Farm Credit.
  • Advanced understanding of the organization's automated lending platform system and related models.
  • Advanced understanding of decision strategies used in automated decisioning.
  • Knowledge of credit processing and servicing activities, accounting principles and practices, credit analysis procedures, credit administration, and portfolio management.
  • Interpersonal, communication, team building, problem solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Highly developed negotiating and influencing skills.
  • Ability to deal with internal and external high stress situations and resolving conflicts.
  • Leadership skills to select, evaluate, engage, motivate, mentor, train, delegate, reward and lead remote team members.
  • Strong listening, written and verbal communication skills, with ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong problem solving, decision making and organizational skills.
  • Computer skills, including MS Office applications and position-specific programs such as CRM and loan origination systems.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Basic knowledge of crop and livestock industries and production, as well as general real estate values across all regions of the United States.

The actual title and base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role is eligible for variable compensation and other benefits.
