About the Opportunity:

The Tool Maker II position is responsible for moderately complex building and modifying tools, jigs, molds and fixtures using precision bench and machining operations.

Location: Stuart, FL - Onsite, Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM

Responsibilities:

  • Works with machinist hand tools and precision measuring instruments using a good mechanical aptitude
  • Programs, sets-up, and operates machine tools to perform completely and independently specific operations as required
  • Reads, interprets, and machines moderately detailed and assembly components, jigs and fixtures as indicated on the prints, sketches, and /or other specifications
  • Fabricates moderately complex assembly and drill jigs
  • Changes, sets and adjusts tools as required
  • Determines, sets and adjusts feeds, speeds and stops on all machines in the facility within operation capability to maintain specified tolerances
  • Be familiar with temperature changes caused by machine operations and the use of proper coolants
  • Have moderate knowledge of the machinability of metals
  • Grinds moderately complex cutting tools and drills
  • Checks fixture using specified details and assemblies to see that dimensions are being maintained
  • Reports improper machine function and/or checks parts not being held to the proper dimensions
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Three (3) to five (5) years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time bases without sponsorship now or in the future. The Company cannot offer employment to visa holders who require employer sponsorship in the future or cannot work now on a full-time basis.
  • Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.

Work Conditions:

  • Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, electrical equipment, acetone, alcohol, argon, braze alloys, nitrogen, hydrogen, oil-based lubricants and cleaning solutions
  • Occasionally exposed to moderate cold and extreme heat
  • Noise level is usually middling
  • Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel
  • Able to communicate verbally and have the ability to hear
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and stoop or crouch
  • Occasionally required to sit
  • Regularly lifts and/or moves up to thirty (30) pounds and occasionally lifts and/or moves up to fifty (50) pounds
  • Close vision ability
