About the Opportunity:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Master Scheduler to join our team at Pursuit Aerospace. The Master Scheduler will be responsible for developing and maintaining the master production schedule, ensuring optimal inventory levels, tracking performance metrics, and reducing overdue orders. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in lean scheduling principles and proficient in maintaining the Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) process. This role requires close collaboration with various departments to ensure seamless production operations.

Key objectives to achieve may include 90% or better on time to promise date and inventory turns of 6 or more annually.

Location: This role is 100% onsite in Plainville, Connecticut.

This role will be onsite and will travel about 10%-25% of the time.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain the master production schedule to meet production goals and customer demands.
  • Implement and manage lean scheduling techniques to optimize production flow and reduce waste.
  • Monitor and control inventory levels to prevent overstocking and stockouts.
  • Track and report on key performance metrics, including production efficiency, inventory accuracy, and schedule adherence.
  • Identify and address potential scheduling conflicts and production bottlenecks.
  • Coordinate with production, procurement, engineering, and quality departments to ensure schedule alignment and effective resource utilization.
  • Maintain the Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) process to balance demand and supply, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct regular reviews and adjustments to the master schedule based on changing production priorities and market conditions.
  • May be responsible for supervising one employee.
  • Collaborate with supply chain management to ensure timely availability of materials and components.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance scheduling processes and overall operational efficiency.
  • Prepare and present scheduling reports and updates to management and stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • At least 3 years of experience in production scheduling, preferably in a machine shop or manufacturing environment.
  • APICS CPIM or CSCP certification.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time bases without sponsorship now or in the future. The Company cannot offer employment to visa holders who require employer sponsorship in the future or cannot work now on a full-time basis.
  • Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of lean manufacturing and lean scheduling principles.
  • Must have proficiency in using scheduling software, ERP systems and Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for cross-departmental collaboration.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and continuous improvement.

Working Conditions

  • Must be able to have prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to frequently sit, stand and walk.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 15 pounds.
  • Personal protective equipment (e.g., safety glasses and safety shoes) is required on the shop floor
  • Occasional weekend and evening work may be required to accommodate priorities, deadlines, and schedules.
