Overview:

The Midstream Pipeline Purchasing Agent is responsible for project procurement of materials, supplies, tools, equipment, and required services. The Purchasing Agent reports to the project manager and liaises with the project superintendent, foreman, and home office accounting functions.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provides procurement services on behalf of the Project Manager.
  • Sets up and maintains a procurement process in accordance with corporate guidelines.
  • Supervises onsite warehouse.
  • Assists the Project Manager to forecast procurement needs in advance.
  • Assures purchase orders, subcontracts, and leases are fully executed.
  • Liaises with the Office Manager with administrative management of purchase orders change orders, subcontracts, and equipment rentals.
  • Assures payment registers are maintained.
  • Assures accurate receipt of materials, supplies, tools, and equipment.
  • Assists selection, evaluation of subcontractors and equipment leases.
  • Ensures subcontractors meet safety, quality, and schedule expectations.
  • Manages processing invoices, progress payments, change orders and verification of completed work.
  • Assures all purchases are closed out, receipt release of liens, and final payments are processed and paid.
  • Assists conducting project closeout management of surplus materials, tools and equipment.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Supervises onsite procurement staff.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience in oil and gas midstream pipeline construction.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent communication, organization, and leadership abilities.
  • Proficiency in company accounting software tools.
  • Ability to travel, work long hours, and operate in rugged field environments.
