Job Description




As a Security Officer - Government Annex Patrol in Richmond, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government transportation location, you will conduct routine foot patrols, remain highly visible to help discourage security-related incidents, and support staff and visitors with clear communication and professional customer service. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to staff and visitors at a government transportation location by following post orders, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response procedures.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of facilities, parking areas, and perimeter points to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify maintenance or operational concerns.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating issues to appropriate personnel and/or public responders as needed.
  • Monitor access points and verify authorization for entry, assist with visitor check-in and/or badging procedures when assigned, and direct individuals to appropriate destinations.
  • Complete security-related logs and reports, document patrol observations and incident details, and communicate status updates to Allied Universal supervision and site contacts.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
