Description

Trident Seafoods is the largest vertically integrated seafood harvesting and processing company in North America. Trident is a privately held, 100 percent USA-owned company with primary seafood processing operations and fleet support in twelve Alaska communities. Trident's global operations produce finished wild Alaska seafood products in 6 countries and its sales teams serve customers in over 50 countries. Species harvested and processed by Trident include virtually every commercial species of salmon, whitefish, and crab harvested in the North Pacific and Alaska. The global supply chain also includes cultured and wild species from a network of trusted sources worldwide.

Summary:The Tax Manager will primarily be responsible for managing the company's various tax compliance needs including income tax, indirect and excise tax and transfer pricing. They will also be involved in training less experienced team members and supporting the Sr. Director with various tax planning, optimization and risk mitigation projects. The ideal candidate will have strong intellectual curiosity and drive to learn new skills.

EssentialFunctions:

  • Managing Income tax compliance including internal preparation of book to tax adjustments, i.e. preparation of complex adjustments, review of moderately complex and simple adjustments, coordination with non-US heads of finance and coordination with external tax partner.
  • Managing Transfer Pricing Compliance including coordination with external transfer pricing partner.
  • Supporting Sr. Director of Tax with quarterly tax planning.
  • Provides support to internal tax team and other internal departments for indirect/excise tax related matters.
  • Responsible for managing external audits and tax notices.
  • Supporting Sr Director of Tax and other internal stakeholders with various ad hoc research and optimization/risk management projects.
  • Regularly worksonsite to buildstrong teamconnections, collaborate across functions, and solve problems in real time.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Performs other similar or related duties as requested or assigned.
  • Acquires knowledge of Trident's Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions.
  • Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings.

This is a salaried exempt position with an annualized salary range of $115,000 to $135,000.

Minimum Requirements

RequiredQualifications:

  • Licensed CPA.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in tax, with Big 4(e.g., KPMG, PWC, Deloitte, etc.)or Middle Market firm(e.g.,Grant Thornton, Moss Adams, Baker Tilly,BDL, RSM, Crowe Horwath, etc.)experience and at least 2 years working in-house.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and years of experience.
  • Deep understanding of US corporations and individual taxation.
  • Basic understanding of US International tax concepts, sales and use tax and excise tax.
  • Basic understanding of US GAAP accounting principles.
  • Comfortable working with ambiguous information.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

PreferredEducation & Experiences:

  • Masters in Taxation.
  • Interest in or prior experience with treasury focused work.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities(KSAs):

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a highly dynamic environment and the ability to work with flexibility, efficiency, and diplomacy both individually and as part of a complex team effort.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, in positions requiring communication with a broad and diverse audience.
  • Experience withSAPS/4HANA.

Work environment:

This is an on-site position based at the Trident Support Center office in Seattle's Ballard neighborhood, with the option to work remotely on Fridays.

In-office time takes place in a typical office environment: temperature controlled with adequate lighting and moderate noise. While remote, employees must provide appropriate home office space.
