Accounting Specialist

Job Summary:

The Accounting Specialist aids in processing claims and receivables and facilitating collections for AAA Moving and Storage.

Essential Functions and Duties:

• Post receivables into accounting software subsequent to appropriate research of the payment.
• Communicate with customers regarding claims decisions made by the service center General Managers
• Process credit card payments for monthly storage after verifying invoices have been genereated and posted to accounting software
• Ensure collections efforts are conducting according to the regulations of the State of Alaska and the state within which the customer resides.
• Assemble paperwork to send to attorney for collection purposes, as needed.
• Work assigned shifts including some mandatory overtime and work on Saturdays
• Other responsibilities, as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge of, or ability to learn, company software
• Knowledge of, or ability to learn accounting software
• Strong interpersonal skills for communicating over the phone and through writing
• Knowledge of accounting/general bookkeeping procedures
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Required Education and Experience:

• Required: High school diploma
• Preferred: Prior receivables or collections experience
