As a Service Engineer, you'll have the responsibility to support our organization's ability to maintain, repair and overhaul gas turbine engines used in flight applications. The majority of the engine overhaul process at the MRO facility is handled by a Service Engineer, who serves as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the product and models that are assigned. This includes conveying technical work scope information from the customer to the shop technicians and developing required process documentation.

Service engineers are responsible for ensuring that the engine work scope meets customer expectations for reliability, performance and configuration.

Service Engineers are responsible for driving continuous improvement events in their areas to improve shop efficiency, safety, and quality. Within all these tasks, Service Engineers help ensure our compliance to relevant airworthiness and customer contractual requirements.

What you'll do:

  • Work-scope Development and Creation.
  • Configuration Control and Management.
  • Service Investigation Reporting.
  • Critical Process Review and Verification.
  • Technical Evaluation of Nonconforming material.
  • Document Creation and Management.
  • Supporting Business Unit Goals, TAT, COPQ and Compliance.
  • Fact-finding, containment, of initial incidents, corrective and preventative measures.
  • Maintain technical link between the manufacturer and the business unit.
  • Technical support of new product introduction.
  • Technical assistance and advice for engine testing and performance.
  • Responsible for observing all applicable safety requirements and reporting immediately any unsafe practices/conditions.
  • Technical support and advice for troubleshooting for customers and mobile repair teams.
  • Carries out special projects as assigned.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent from an ABET accredited engineering curriculum or related experience.
  • Experience in an aerospace, minimum three years, Jet engine overhaul or manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of computer software systems
  • Working knowledge of gas turbine engine theory is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience in the following is preferred:
    • Failure Modes and Effects Analysis,
    • Measurement Systems Analysis,
    • Familiarity with US Government or Commercial Maintenance Manuals,
    • Experience participating in accident investigation.
    • Good project planning and organizational skills and an ability to accomplish projects on schedule with limited supervision.
    • Familiarity with navigating jet engine OEM manuals desired.
    • Flexible work schedule to provide after hours support
    • Must be capable of completing an assigned Training Development Plan within 3 years or less for assigned work assignments.
  • Must be authorized to work in the US.

Preferred Characteristics

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and an ability to clearly convey technical instructions both orally and in writing.
  • A&P license or Powerplant license.
