Job Description

JOB OBJECTIVE: The Global Custom & OEM Solutions Consultant expands Promega's customer base and market presence while achieving defined revenue targets and delivering exceptional customer satisfaction. This role drives business growth by developing and executing strategic account plans, building long-term partnerships, and identifying new opportunities that strengthen Promega's position as a preferred OEM partner in the life sciences industry.

CORE DUTIES:

1. Develop and implement strategic account plans to increase revenues, profit, and customer satisfaction through Promega's Custom & OEM capabilities.

2. Establish strategic objectives, performance goals, success metrics, and tactical plans aligned with business priorities.

3. Collaborate effectively with Custom & OEM Leadership, product management, business units, manufacturing operations, and other relevant groups as needed, to execute plans.

4. Conduct proactive sales prospecting to identify, engage, and qualify new business opportunities for Promega's Custom and OEM Solutions.

5. Partner with Marketing and Regional Sales to execute targeted lead generation initiatives and convert leads to sales opportunities.

6. Initiate direct contact with current and potential customers, assess their technical and commercial needs, and deliver compelling presentations that articulate Promega's value proposition for Custom & OEM solutions.

7. Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified opportunities by leveraging CRM systems, market intelligence tools, and targeted customer engagement tactics.

8. Develop comprehensive pricing strategies that reflect value delivered while growing profit and revenue.

9. Negotiate long-term supply agreements in collaboration with Custom/OEM leadership, legal, and regional sales counterparts to ensure alignment with customer and business objectives.

10. Develop and nurture long-term strategic relationships with customers, including senior-level contacts, to enable early engagement and solution alignment.

11. Serve as the primary liaison for assigned accounts, coordinating cross-functional support to meet customer needs.

12. Ensure current customers stay informed about and engaged in Promega's full capabilities through regular presentations, business reviews, and customer visits to strengthen partnership value and drive continued growth.

13. Prepare and present internal and external account reviews to evaluate performance, share insights, and align growth opportunities.

14. Serve in an overlay capacity to support field sales teams in advancing custom opportunities and growing OEM sales, particularly when not the primary account owner, by facilitating communication, providing technical and commercial insight, and ensuring alignment across internal stakeholders.

15. Identify the technologies and products necessary to sustain and grow the business by working closely with R&D, Manufacturing Operations, and Supply Chain to align on capabilities, timelines, and resources that support customer and market needs.

16. Collaborate with functional managers and department heads (e.g., IT, Manufacturing, Sales, and Marketing) to align priorities, coordinate resources, and ensure seamless execution of business plans.

17. Monitor competitive activity and market trends to identify new opportunities and inform strategic direction.

18. Deliver timely market intelligence on competitors, customer needs, and emerging technologies to internal stakeholders.

19. Represent Promega within the industry through engagement, contribution, and thought leadership.

20. Flexible in handling change, meeting a standard of excellence, persistent in pursuing goals despite obstacles and setbacks. Self-awareness of how behaviors can affect our colleagues. 23. Understand and comply with ethical, legal and regulatory requirements as applicable to our business.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Bachelor's degree in life sciences or a related field.

2. Minimum of 6 years of sales experience in reagents and/or life science tools serving customers in clinical, applied, pharmaceutical, or other life science markets.

3. Demonstrated success in developing and implementing strategic sales plans that deliver measurable growth.

4. Proven effectiveness in negotiating complex, high-value agreements.

5. Strong presentation, communication, and relationship-building skills.

6. Demonstrated adaptability and problem-solving skills in dynamic, matrixed organizations.

7. Able to work collaboratively within shared or cross-functional sales environments, supporting account owners through joint customer engagement, solution development, and coordinated sales execution.

8. Demonstrated proficiency in digital tools and technology, including Microsoft applications and mobile platforms, with the ability to adapt and leverage emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence, to improve efficiency, automation, and collaboration.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Experience in OEM sales, custom manufacturing, business development, or marketing.

2. Experience working in regulated environments.

3. Advanced degree in life sciences or business.

4. Familiarity with pricing models, contract management, and cross-functional project coordination.

5. Exposure to international sales or customer engagement in global markets.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

1. Ability to use computer equipment, including Microsoft Office applications.

2. Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 50% of the time.

3. Ability to drive and maintain a valid driver's license.
