Position Overview:

The Cybersecurity Intern will assist in the proactive administration and maintenance of global IT security including security configuration, patching, and deployment and carrying out security measures to monitor, alert and protect sensitive data and systems from internal/external threats, infiltration and cyber-attacks.

Responsibilities:



  1. Regularly gather cybersecurity metrics from the tools and maintain the records on SharePoint.
  2. Assist with SharePoint permission audit.
  3. Review user information fields in KnowBe4 and update them as necessary, including VP details.
  4. Update the contractor's manager details in AD.
  5. Keep the third-party risk assessment register up-to-date on the SharePoint site with past and current risk assessment outcomes.
  6. Document all Cisco ESA Policies, Content filter rules and message filters for future reference.
  7. Document all the Transport rules we have in Office 365 and work on cleaning those up after gaining approval through the proper change process.
  8. Document Cybersecurity processes, procedures and guidelines
  9. Contribute to projects that enhance the security posture of the enterprise.
  10. Develop and maintain reports and dashboards for reporting on KPIs on security awareness, threats, and events.
  11. Creates and maintains security specific documentation.
  12. Provides additional IT infrastructure support and project assistance as required


Qualifications:




  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.



  • Foundational understanding of IT concepts, including computer networks, operating systems, software, and hardware.



  • Basic familiarity with web and email security concepts (e.g., phishing, spam filtering, secure browsing).



  • Exposure to anti-virus tools and/or Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) solutions through coursework, labs, or internships.



  • General knowledge of common cybersecurity principles and technical security controls.



  • Strong oral and written communication skills.



  • Ability to explain basic security concepts and potential risks clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.



  • Eagerness to learn, ask questions, and grow in a fast-paced security environment.
