Join our team as the Engineering & Maintenance Manager, overseeing daily engineering and maintenance and operations for the department including building utility systems, equipment maintenance, and building and grounds maintenance. This position manages projects, repairs, and preventive maintenance for all buildings, machinery, and equipment throughout the plant. The Area Maintenance Manager provides staff training and leadership always following the Worthington Philosophy while sharing personal knowledge and developing maintenance staff and ensures maintenance objectives are met including projects, cost, quality and safety. The ideal candidate has the ability to analyze a situation and determine the most effective and efficient outcome to meet the department needs while communicating throughout to all the essential functional units.

Responsibilities



  • Supervises and evaluates performance of maintenance personnel.
  • Communicates projects with all personnel, departments and shifts.
  • Plans and schedules plant shutdown with outside contractors and internal staff.
  • Ensures maintenance objectives and plant projects are completed.
  • Supports and administers all company safety programs.
  • Identifies opportunity for improvement and participate in continuous improvement.
  • Troubleshoots technical equipment related failures.
  • Staffs new maintenance employees and development of internal candidates.
  • Orders and approves purchase of parts and items needed.
  • Maintains and recommends an accurate spare parts inventory.
  • Manages a yearly departmental spending budget.
  • Writes Capital Appropriations Requests (CARs) as needed.
  • Develops productivity tools/procedural enhancements that allow work to be completed in a more efficient manner.
  • Organize and define organization of machine and equipment records.
  • Schedules employees to cover projects, repairs, and preventive maintenance.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Desired Experience



  • Knowledge of industrial equipment
  • Mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic skills
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Complete knowledge of the company safety rules, procedures and goals
  • Above average mechanical, electrical, fabrication, troubleshooting and computer skills
  • Proficiency in root-cause analysis
  • Proficiency in failure mode effects analysis
  • Advanced supervisory/leadership/training skills
  • Five years of experience in maintenance environment
  • Two to three years supervisory experience
