- In this role, you will report to the Payroll Manager, and
play a key role in supporting accurate and timely payroll processing while helping ensure compliance with all federal and state payroll regulations - You will process assigned payrolls including and not limited to regular pay, Inpat, Expat, commissions, special awards, stock, and miscellaneous income
- Provide accurate payroll and benefit information by assisting with the review, audit, and analysis of payroll records and reports, with oversight and guidance from the Payroll Manager
- Process and submit multiple interfaces to third party vendors
- Process payroll adjustments as directed by Compensation, Pension, Benefits, and Business Leaders
- Prepare and reconcile SCR/Commission files for processing in regular and supplemental payrolls
- Maintain Payroll Processing folders for ensuring completion of all payroll steps including file exports, approvals, reconciliations, and process documentation
- In this role, you will respond to and/or distribute issues and inquiries to appropriate team members for research and follow up or to the manager for escalation
- Provide back-up support to Payroll Administrators and Payroll Manager as required
- Assist payroll team in updating internal process documentation as needed, and assist payroll team in semi-annual and annual payroll processes as needed including system release testing, year-end processing, and incentive programs
- You will support benefits function as it relates to employee contributions for healthcare, 401k, pension, and related STD payments and reconciliation
- Process manual checks for state mandated payments, terminations, etc.
- Work with accounting and payroll team to clear up unreconciling items
- Assist payroll team in problem solving payroll issues such as tax adjustments, garnishments, accruals, time-keeping issues, and disability payments
- And you will identify opportunities to optimize current processes and procedures used
- Assist manager with training new and existing payroll staff
- Provide support to other departments regarding internal and external auditing
What makes you great
- A Bachelors degree in finance, accounting, business, HR or 5 years of payroll experience is required, as well as knowledge of payroll laws and regulations
- In depth knowledge of UKGPro Payroll, both Back-End and WebPayroll is required in this role
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including strong Excel skills such as VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Reconciliations
- You have strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills
- Strong mathematic ability, accuracy, and attention to detail
- Ability to assist in solving problems by working with team members and following established guidance
