Job Overview

The Estimator supports Store Environment by leading budget development activities as needed to formulate and execute the capital plan.

What You Will Do



  • Prepare cost estimates at various stages of project development for capital projects, programs, and initiatives.
  • Analyze plans, specifications, and related project documentation to develop accurate estimates.
  • Maintain unit cost databases that reflect current market conditions and cost trends.
  • Benchmark building and fixture costs against contractors, consultants, and industry competitors.
  • Demonstrate regular, reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities.
  • In addition to the essential duties mentioned above, other duties may be assigned.


Skills You Will Need

Capital Cost Estimating Expertise - Proven ability to prepare accurate cost estimates at multiple stages of project development, including conceptual, schematic, and detailed design phases.

Budget Development & Capital Planning - Experience leading budget development activities to support formulation and execution of large-scale capital plans.

Quantity Takeoff & Material Pricing - Strong capability in preparing quantity takeoffs, material pricing, conceptual estimates, and reviewing bid documents.

Construction Document Analysis - Ability to analyze plans, specifications, and related project documentation to ensure precise and reliable estimates.

Market Cost Intelligence - Skill in maintaining unit cost databases that reflect current market conditions and benchmarking costs against contractors, consultants, and competitors.

Estimating Leadership - Demonstrated experience leading estimating efforts for major project elements with accountability for accuracy, timing, and outcomes.

Geographic Cost Adjustment Knowledge - Understanding of regional cost variations and the application of time-and-place adjustments.

Technical & Software Proficiency - Strong MS Office skills with experience using estimating software; familiarity with AutoCAD and Tango Analytics preferred.

Analytical & Timely Decision Support - Ability to deliver clear, actionable information and analyses within tight timelines to support business decisions.

Communication & Stakeholder Partnership - Effective communicator with a positive leadership presence and strong customer service orientation.

Self-Directed Execution - Proven self-starter who works independently with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively in a team environment.

Who You Are



  • Candidates with a bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a related field are encouraged to apply.
  • 2 plus years of experience as an estimator on commercial or institutional construction projects.
  • Regularly required to sit, talk, hear; use hands/fingers to touch, handle, and feel. Occasionally required to move about the workplace and reach with hands and arms. Requires close vision.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs.
