What You Will Do

We are seeking a Subcontracts Buyer! In this role, you will play a key role in supporting Engineering, Operations, Program Management, and Supply Chain teams by sourcing, negotiating, and managing suppliers that provide avionics, components, software, and indirect materials. You will lead supplier engagements across development, outsourcing, and production programs while ensuring compliance, cost control, and strong supplier performance.

This hybrid position is based at our Headquarters in Oak Creek, WI and reports to the Subcontracts Manager.



How You Will Do It



  • Lead the preparation and execution of RFQs, proposals, Statements of Work (SOWs), and subcontract agreements.
  • Conduct supplier negotiations using a structured negotiation process, including pricing, commercial terms, and long-term agreements.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to define technical, quality, delivery, and service requirements.
  • Analyze supplier proposals, cost structures, market conditions, and historical spend to drive sourcing decisions and cost savings.
  • Administer and manage contracts to ensure compliance with contractual terms, company policies, and applicable regulations.
  • Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships through regular communication, performance reviews, and issue resolution.
  • Track supplier KPIs, scorecards, and performance goals; provide actionable feedback to drive continuous improvement.
  • Identify and evaluate new suppliers, sourcing methods, and market opportunities to ensure supply continuity and competitiveness.
  • Monitor market intelligence, cost drivers, and industry trends to anticipate pricing and supply risks.
  • Support strategic supplier management initiatives that focus on cost control, risk mitigation, and compliance.
  • Collaborate with Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to ensure procurement involvement early in new product introductions.
  • Utilize escalation paths to resolve supplier performance, delivery, or quality issues.
  • Ensure compliance with pricing structures, payment terms, volume commitments, rebates, and contract documentation requirements.



What We Look For

Required



  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of five years' experience in a strategic sourcing, or procurement function.


    • Preference for experience in engineered products, technology, or manufacturing environments.


  • Strong understanding of the contract lifecycle, contract types, and government/commercial contracting principles.
  • Experience reviewing and developing Statements of Work (SOWs).
  • Experience with ERP systems; IFS experience preferred.
  • Purchase Order justification and documentation experience.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.



Preferred



  • Experience working in an AS9100 and/or ISO 9001 certified environment.
  • Experience supporting FAA-certified product development and manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of FAR/DFAR and commercial procurement regulations.
  • CPM or CPSM certification.
