The mission of the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless is to work collaboratively toward the prevention of homelessness and the creation of lasting solutions for homeless and at-risk families, children, and individuals throughout Colorado. Colorado Coalition for the Homeless provides compassionate, high-quality eye care to individuals experiencing homelessness and housing instability-and we invest in our employees with company-paid training and professional development. This position is located at 2130 Stout Street Denver, CO 80205.
NOTE: In order to ensure that our consumers receive the best possible care the candidate chosen to fill this position will be required to complete our internal credentialing and privileging process prior to a start date. The credentialing and privileging timeline is dependent on the selected candidate's submission of documents necessary for clearance. Please note that a start date will be scheduled once credentialing and privileging is complete.
Additional Requirement
    • Valid driver's license required. This requirement may be waived, if necessary, based on overall candidate experience and current needs of the business.

What You'll Do
    • Prepare patients for eye exams: health histories, blood glucose checks, records retrieval, dilation, and exam setup
    • Perform diagnostic testing: visual acuity, visual fields, OCT, pachymetry, and tonometry
    • Triage and schedule patients based on symptoms and clinical risk
    • Assist with in-office procedures and coordinate specialty referrals
    • Provide optical services: frame selection, fitting, lensometry, repairs, and Vision Web submissions
    • Educate patients on diagnoses, medications, and treatment plans
    • Track high-risk follow-ups and collaborate with medical providers
    • Maintain exam lanes, order supplies, and support smooth clinic operations

What We're Looking For
    • High School Diploma or equivalent Required
    • 1+ year experience as an Ophthalmic Assistant/Technician
    • Eye care experience Required
    • COA certification or equivalent clinical training preferred
    • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
    • Experience serving medically complex or underserved populations preferred
    • Experience using phoropter is preferred
$20.08 - $29 an hour
