Job Title: Lead Welder

Responsibilities

Working lead able to perform all Welding and lead functions including:

• Ability to weld Flux-Core (FCAW) in all positions.
• Ability to weld pipe
• Use of a grinder
• Ability to read and understand blueprints for welding symbols
• Ability to understand dimensions
• Ability to read a tape measure
• Ingenuity is needed to put together components
• Coordinate the work of the welders
• Perform quality checks in the Weld area
• Assist in training new team members
• Set up and administer weld tests to applicants

Job Requirements

Education and Training

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to lead and train employees
• 4 years Welding experience

Technical Requirements

• Must be mechanically inclined
• Must be able to read and understand blueprints
• Ability to operate overhead cranes and a variety of hand and power tools
• Detailed and process oriented with strong problem resolution abilities
• Strong quality focus
• Excellent organizational skills and follow up skills
• Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities to meet tight deadlines
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks of varying importance and complexity
• Applicant must be cleared for PAPR use.

Physical Requirements

Performs climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing for long periods of time, grabs objects with the fingers, exerting in excess of 40 pounds of force occasionally and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Working Conditions

This position is subject to working both inside and outside of the building, as well as being subject to noise, subject to fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases and poor ventilation that could affect the respiratory system.

Pay scale = $26.00-$30.00/hour
