Description and Requirements

Job Title: Server Test Engineering Manager

Location: Whitsett, NC
Department: Infrastructure Solutions Group (ISG)
Reports To: Sr Manager Technical Production
Schedule: Full-time, Onsite, First Shift (occasional weekends/holidays)

Role Summary

The Server Test Engineering Manager leads a team of test engineers and technicians responsible for validating server hardware platforms across manufacturing and development stages. This role ensures test coverage, process efficiency, and quality assurance for server products, while driving innovation and continuous improvement in test methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Strategy
    • Lead and mentor a team of server test engineers and technicians.
    • Define and execute test strategies aligned with product lifecycle and manufacturing goals.
    • Collaborate cross-functionally with design, manufacturing, quality, and NPI teams.
  • Technical Execution
    • Oversee development and deployment of automated and manual test procedures for server platforms.
    • Ensure test coverage for functional, performance, stress, and regression testing.
    • Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for test failures.
  • Project & Resource Management
    • Allocate test resources across programs and phases.
    • Manage test schedules, deliverables, and budgets.
    • Support hiring and onboarding of new test engineers.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in server hardware testing, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in test automation tools like Python, Bash, Linux.
  • Strong understanding of server architecture, BIOS, BMC, and firmware validation.
  • Experience with ERP systems and data analytics for test optimization.
  • Prior experience in fast-paced production or manufacturing environments.

  • Recognized as a technical expert and mentor within the organization.
  • Solve complex problems with innovative and scalable solutions.
  • Willing to attend off shift meetings, travel internationally as needed and support team in off hours and weekends as necessary.
  • Generate reports on needed basis and share with organizational leaders.
