The Commercial Flight Controls Division, headquartered in beautiful Ogden, Utah, is a global leader in aerospace flight controls.

We are the preferred supplier of flight control solutions for the commercial, regional, business jet and advanced air mobility marketplace by offering a premier customer experience with superior engineered products that exceed our customer and regulatory requirements.

We've broken ground with more-electric technology and electromechanical flight control systems. Looking ahead we're further improving flight control actuation for traditionaland advanced air mobility (AAM) aircraft with new technologies and manufacturing advancements.

Position Summary

We are seeking a Senior Commodity Manager to help lead the strategy, performance, and long-term development of critical suppliers supporting complex aerospace manufacturing programs. This role is responsible for developing and executing commodity strategies, negotiating and managing long-term agreements (LTAs), and ensuring suppliers deliver against cost, quality, delivery, and performance objectives.

This position operates at a strategic level, partnering closely with Engineering, Operations, Quality, Program Management and peer commodity managers to ensure supply continuity while driving competitiveness and operational excellence. It is an individual contributor role, reporting to the Division Strategic Procurement Manager, and part of an amazing commodity management team.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Commodity Leadership

  • Develop and execute multi-year commodity strategies aligned to business objectives.
  • Own commercial strategy for assigned commodities, including risk management, cost structure analysis, and supplier footprint optimization.
  • Lead make/buy assessments and supplier selection decisions.

Long-Term Supplier Management

  • Negotiate and manage long-term agreements (LTAs), pricing frameworks, escalation clauses, and performance metrics.
  • Ensure contractual compliance and manage commercial disputes.

Cost & Performance Management

  • Drive year-over-year cost reductions through negotiations, and productivity gains.
  • Analyze supplier cost structures and market trends.
  • Monitor KPIs including OTD, PPM, lead times, and capacity.
  • Partner with Quality and Operations to mitigate supply risk.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Support new product introduction (NPI) and program transitions.
  • Collaborate with Engineering on technical sourcing decisions.
  • Partner with Finance on cost forecasting and budget alignment.
  • Support risk management efforts including dual sourcing and recovery planning.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field.
  • 7+ years of progressive supply chain experience in aerospace or complex manufacturing.
  • Experience negotiating high-value long-term agreements.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and cost drivers.
  • Demonstrated experience managing strategic suppliers.
  • Ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.

Preferred:

  • Aerospace industry experience (AS9100 environment preferred).
  • Experience with castings, machined components, electronics, composites, or other aerospace commodities.
  • MBA or advanced degree.
  • APICS / CPSM certification.
