Astrion is seekingaSatelliteAI&TElectronics Technicianto supportsmallsatellite assembly, integration, and testfor Air Force Research Lab and commercial customersinAlbuquerque, New Mexico.This position offers the opportunity to work hands-on with cutting-edgespace hardwarein a collaborative environment driving innovation in space systems.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • U.S. Citizenshiprequired
  • DoD Secret clearance
  • Associate of Science degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering
  • Minimum3+ years of experience in the electrical or space industry
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wire diagrams
  • Proficiencyin use of oscilloscopes, multimeters, and amp meters for circuit testing and signal measurement
  • Experience fabricating cable harnesses to IPC J-STD-001/WHMA-620 standards
  • Skilled in soldering and de-soldering SMT components and terminals
  • Familiarity with Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) practices and electrical safety
  • Basic understanding of electrical circuits and troubleshooting techniques
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, integration and test environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • IPC J-STD-001/WHMA-620 Certification
  • DoD Top Secret clearance
  • Experience in cable harness fabrication (Class 3)
  • Experience with hand/reflow soldering of printed circuit boards
  • Knowledge of AC/DC electronics and electrical theory
  • Prior experience in the aerospace or space systems industry
  • Proficiencyusing hand tools, cutting and crimp machines, and precision connectors (D-sub,Omnetics, Micro-D/Nano-D, circular, etc.)
  • Strong communicationskills and ability to work independently on assigned tasks

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support AFRL's Small Satellite Portfolio (SSP) through hands-on electrical fabrication, testing, and integration activities
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics and wire diagrams for assembly and test purposes
  • Fabricate complex payload harnesses and cable assemblies per specification and standards
  • Execute test procedures in support of integration, build, and qualification of electrical subsystems and components
  • Work closely with engineers and other technicians during subsystem and system-level integration and test activities
  • Identifyprogram problems, recommend improvements, and implement process solutions
  • Maintain ESD-safe work practices and ensure quality workmanship in all electrical builds
  • Gather, compile, andmaintaintechnical data such as test results, design changes, and documentation
  • Support the continued build-out and advancement ofAstrion'sspace systems development capabilities
