Assistant Field Director

School of Social Work

This position manages BSW field education.

Responsibilities include:

• Advising students in preparation of their field placement
• Planning and facilitating practicum planning workshops
• Reviewing and approving student learning agreements
• Providing assistance with the development and implementation of field placement policies
• Conducting site visits to monitor student progress; providing assistance in the identification, recruitment, approval, and monitoring of field placement sites and field instructors
• Supervising practicum seminar instructors, overseeing seminar content, offering consultation to students and field instructors if placement issues arise and planning the annual practicum and career fair.
• This position has teaching and service responsibilities.

Eligible candidates will have:

• MSW from an accredited social work program,
• Five years of post-master's social work experience,
• Licensure as a clinical social worker and experience as a field instructor are preferred.
• Candidates with prior teaching experience in higher education are preferred.
