This position comes with opportunity for a faculty appointment within the Department of Pediatrics, Michigan State University and Wayne State University (rank is determined by individual accomplishments), a competitive salary, and full benefits package. About the Department of Pediatrics: As part of exciting development, Henry Ford Health has earmarked the growth of its Pediatric services. The vision includes expansion of the inpatient footprint and development of all specialties. Henry Ford Pediatrics as a service line spans care accross 8 acute care hospitals, West Bloomfield Hospital, Macomb Hospital, Wyandotte, Jackson and Henry Ford Hospital. Henry Ford St John's Childrens hospital, Rochester, Providence, Southfield and Novi are state of the art Pediatric comprehensive care facilities.The flagship campus, downtown is the location of major investment for the system with its 'Destination Grand'. With an expansive primary care network for Pediatrics, the addition of new as well as growth of existing comprehensive specialty care is in progress. With a group of 275+ physicians/providers, comprising primary care, specialties, APP and more than 300 support staff, clinical care is provided at 50+ sites, including 9 Henry Ford hospitals and several state of the art ambulatory state of the art centers. Level 3 and level 2 NICU care is provided by a very strong team of neonatologists and the inpatient services are supported by a robust hospitalist group.There are 38 school based clinics and a very strong commitment to community and especially behavioral health. Henry Ford Health is deeply committed to acdemics and the advancement of learning as demonstrated by its collaborative HFH-Michigan State University Academic contract. The Department receives medical students and residents from Michigan State University as well as Wayne State University and participates in academics and research with both entities. An ACGME accredited Pediatric residency program thrives at St John's Childrens Hospital with ambulatory practice at several sites. Pediatric Cardiology services currently include ambulatory practice, pediatric EKG, echocardiograms, Holter monitoring etc. and a team of cardiologists who share coverage for the inpatient and intensive care areas. Henry Ford Health has a tremendously strong cardiovascular service line that provides adult cardiology support and opportunity for clinical and academic advancement with strong reputation nationally and internationally. There is significant opportunity for regional clinical expansion, advancement in the teaching and training programs and further progress in the already significant research. As part of Henry Ford Health and its expansion, there will also be numerous leadership opportunities within the Department of Pediatrics and the system. Clinical responsibilities include ambulatory care and consultative services. The candidate is expected to lead and to participate in the supervision and education of medical students and residents.
